Product Information: Charging Die Kit

The Charging Die Kit from Lee Precision, Inc. is designed to be used with the Pro-Auto Disk and Auto-Drum Powder Measures. The kit includes a short charging die for cases with a length of 0.860 to 1.760 inches, and a long charging die for cases with a length of 1.760 to 2.620 inches. The kit is perfect for those who need accurate charging of powder during reloading ammunition.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Select the appropriate charging die based on the length of the case (see reverse side of the manual).
2. Screw the charging die body onto your Powder Measure, making sure that the actuator drop tube is inside.
3. Remove the funnel adapter that comes with the die.
4. Adjust the powder measure with an empty case in the shell holder and ram fully raised.
5. Screw the unit into the press just enough to move the disk or drum to the dump position, and then set the lock ring.
6. Note: Cases longer than 2.620 inches can be charged by utilizing the long charging die, and limiting the presses’ upward travel by feel rather than to the press stop.
7. For dipping powder charge by hand, put the case in the shell holder and raise the ram to the top of the stroke.
8. Screw the die in until you feel the case mouth bottom out against the rifle drop tube.

FOR USE WITH

1. Select appropriate charging die. (See reverse).

DIPPING POWDER CHARGE BY HAND: Put case in shell holder, raise ram to top of stroke, screw die in until you feel the case mouth bottom out against the rifle drop tube.
