Cleaning and Maintenance
- Keep the device and the battery compartment clean and prevent liquids from entering the electronic part to avoid damaged electronics.
- Clean the device with petrol, lubricate the body with some clock oil. Acetone and alcohol should not be used.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
| The 5 digits change every second | Battery voltage is under 1.45 V | Replace battery. |
| Displayed value does not change. | Circuitry malfunction | Remove the battery and put it back after 30 seconds. |
| LCD shows 000.00 mm /00.000 in | One of the keys is short circuited | Remove the cover and adjust key spring position |
| Function keys do not work | Key spring is bent or deformed | Remove the cover and adjust key spring position |
| Caliper does not measure accurately | Sensor is dirty | Remove the cover and slider assembly, clean the sensor with pressure air (≤ 51 kg/cm²), and clean it with a little petrol for dirt prevention. |
