Safety Information

• Starline Flex must not be operated in a rolled-up condition.
• Avoid electrostatic discharge.
• Do not look directly into the right light source.

Product Information

• Avoid any mechanical stress on the flex tape.
• Starline Flex can be cut at numerous locations indicated by a dashed line on the tape at 125mm intervals.
• The minimum bend radius of the tape is 3cm
• The mounting surface must be dry, clean, and free of grease, oil, silicone, and dirt.

General Information

1. A qualified electrician, in accordance with IEE wiring regulations, should carry out mains connections.
2. Ensure that the rated luminaire voltage and frequency requirements are compatible with the available mains voltage.
3. Do not carry out high voltage insulation test, i.e 500/1000v as this may damage the components.
4. It is recommended that flex mounting clips and adhesive tape is used.
5. To prevent dark spots Flex mounting clips should be positing so they are not covering an LED.

Max 1 reel when wired in series. Multiple reels must be wired in parallel.

Installation Instructions

1. Unroll the tape and cut at the desired length along the dotted cutting line. Make sure that a minimum bending radius of 3 cm is observed.
2. Insert the tape into the lower part of the two-part connector.
   The correct polarity must be strictly observed otherwise the product will fail.
3. Click the upper and lower part of the connector together by placing the upper part of the connector on the lower part of the connector.
4. To achieve IP67 protection, carefully fill the connector with sealant through the hole on the underside of the connector until the filling material comes out of the small hole. This can be done using the Encapsulation Kit (SF67ENCAPKIT) and Encapsulating Tool (SF67ENCAPTOOL)
   The sealant is hardened after 2 hours and completely dried after 8 hours.

   

5. To ensure IP67 protection at the other end of the product. The end cap must also be sealed. This can be done by applying the sealant to the end of the tape and then covering it with the end cap.
6. To surface mount Starline Flex, peel the film off the adhesive tape on the underside of the LED tape. Carefully press the LED tape flat onto the mounting surface until the adhesive holds the tape in place. Place flex mounting clips (SF67CLIP) over the led tap and fix them into place using two countersunk screws with a diameter of less than 3mm. The mounting clips should be installed at 250mm increments and positioned so they are not covering an LED.
7. Wire the Starline Flex tape into the driver. (see wiring information on the back of this leaflet)
   The drivers used with Starline flex must be constant voltage.
