Battery design compliant with IATA DGR
The AirBuddy battery has been designed to comply with the IATA DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulation) and reviewed by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority).
Constructed as a battery duo‐pack, comprising of 2 internal batteries with LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells, each rated 156 Wh (6V, 26Ah), protected by an internal BMS (Battery Management System) and enclosed in a single housing with 4 terminals.
Battery certified according to UN 38.3, CE, EMC
The battery has been tested and certified according to Part III, Sub-section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria. Additionally, it holds CE and EMC certification.
IATA Passengers traveling with lithium batteries
Air travel with lithium battery(ies) is subject to Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR) by IATA, in conjunction with other regulations from international or national bodies such as ICAO, UN, FAA, CASA, etc
DGR allows air travel with up to two spare batteries between 100 and 160 Wh (i.e. one
AirBuddy battery duo‐pack) per person aboard a passenger airplane upon an approval by the airline staff and subject to specific transport conditions.
