2006 Murano Fuel Level Sensor Unit

Product Information

The product in question is the Fuel Level Sensor Unit, Fuel
Filter, and Fuel Pump Assembly for the 2006 Nissan Murano SE with a
3.5L engine. This assembly is responsible for measuring the fuel
level in the fuel tank, filtering the fuel, and pumping it to the
engine for combustion. It is a crucial component of the vehicle’s
fuel system.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before working on the fuel system, read and follow the General
Precautions mentioned in the user manual.
  2. Check the fuel level on the fuel gauge. If the gauge indicates
a level higher than the specified level, drain fuel from the tank
until the gauge shows the correct level or below.
  3. Note that fuel will be spilled when removing the fuel level
sensor unit if the fuel level is above the installation surface.
Approximately 20 gallons of fuel need to be drained from the tank
to bring the fuel level below the specified position.
  4. If the fuel pump does not operate, follow these steps:
    1. Insert a hose with a diameter of less than 25 mm into the fuel
filler tube to draw fuel from it.
    2. Disconnect the fuel filler hose from the fuel filler tube.
    3. Insert the hose into the fuel tank through the fuel filler hose
to draw fuel from the tank.
  5. Release the fuel pressure from the fuel lines according to the
instructions provided in the user manual.
  6. Open the fuel filler lid and then open the fuel filler cap to
release pressure inside the fuel tank.
  7. Remove the rear seat cushion trim and pad bolts to lift up the
    rear seat cushion.
  8. Turn the clips counterclockwise by 90 degrees to remove the
inspection hole cover for the main and sub fuel level sensor
    unit.
  9. Disconnect the harness connector and quick connectors for the
EVAP hose and fuel feed tube.
  10. To disconnect the quick connector, hold the sides of the
connector, push in the tabs, and pull out the fuel feed tube. If
the quick connector sticks to the tube, push and pull it several
times until it starts to move, then disconnect it by pulling.

Please refer to the user manual for detailed diagrams and
additional instructions for the removal and installation process of
the Fuel Level Sensor Unit, Fuel Filter, and Fuel Pump
Assembly.

NOTE: Because fuel will be spilled when removing fuel level sensor unit for the top of fuel is above the fuel level sensor unit installation surface.

1. As a guide, fuel level becomes the position as shown in the figure or below when approximately 20 –> (5-1/4 US gal, 4-3/8 Imp gal) of fuel are drained from fuel tank.
2. In a case that fuel pump does not operate, perform the following procedure.
