SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
If strongly acidic food is cooked in the cast-iron pot, for example with lemon or tomatoes, this can precipitate iron and manganese.
This can cause the food to be discoloured or give it a metallic taste, but is not harmful during normal use.
Regular oiling of the cast-iron pot and proper cleaning (without detergent, just hot water, with dry salt to remove scraps or discolouring) considerably reduces precipitation. It is recommended as a precautionary measure to avoid giving children less than three years old food with acidic ingredients cooked in the cast-iron pot.
