Product Information – PanbioTM HIV Self Test

Product Description

The PanbioTM HIV Self Test is a diagnostic kit designed for
individuals to test themselves for the presence of HIV antibodies
in their blood. The kit provides a convenient and reliable way to
determine HIV status in the comfort of your own home.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. STEP 1: PREPARE
    1. Watch the instructional video provided.
    2. Precautions:
      • Do not eat or drink while performing the test.
      • Read all the steps before testing to ensure accurate
        results.
  2. STEP 2: COLLECT BLOOD
    1. Prepare a timer and tissue (not included in the kit, but
      needed).
    2. Open and place all materials on a flat and clean surface:
      • A Test device
      • B 2 alcohol pads
      • C Plaster
      • D Buffer
      • G Disposal bag
    3. Wash hands in warm water and dry. If warm water is not
      available, rub hands together.
    4. Choose the ring finger or middle finger.
    5. Massage and rub hand and finger to increase circulation.
    6. Clean the finger with an alcohol pad (B) and let it dry for 10
      seconds.
    7. Remove the lancet cover and press the lancet (F) against the
      finger until it clicks.
    8. Massage from the base to the tip of the finger and let 2 drops
      of blood fall into the basin (1). If you are having difficulty,
      wipe the finger clean and squeeze again.
    9. Wipe the finger with an alcohol pad (B) and apply the plaster
      (C). If needed, press on the plaster to stop bleeding. Start the
      next step immediately to transfer the blood.
  3. STEP 3: TEST
    1. Squeeze the top of the specimen dropper (E).
    2. Dip the dropper into the blood in the basin and release slowly
      to draw the blood into the dropper.
    3. Place the dropper over the well and squeeze the top of the
      dropper to apply 1 drop of blood into the well (2).
    4. Hold the buffer bottle (D) vertically and apply 1 drop of
      buffer into the well (3). Do not tilt.
    5. Wait for 15 minutes.
  4. STEP 4: READ RESULT

    Read the result in a well-lit area.

  • A line appears only in the control region (C) area. There is no
    line in the test region (T) area. The test did not detect the
    presence of HIV; however, very recent exposure cannot be excluded.
    It is recommended to conduct a retest after 6 weeks from the latest
    risk of exposure to HIV.
  • One line in the control region (C) area, together with one line
    in the test region (T) area, no matter how faint, indicates the
    potential to be HIV positive. Consult a healthcare provider. A
    reactive result must be confirmed by a lab test. Protect yourself
    and others. Avoid any activity that could transmit HIV to
    others.

Precautions
Do not use: · If you have a bleeding disorder.
· If you are on HIV treatment (ARVs).
· If you are needle-phobic.

· If the kit box or components are broken.
· If the kit or components have been used.
Do not eat or drink while you perform the test.

Before testing, you must read all the steps. Conformance with the test procedure is necessary to ensure an accurate result.
STEP 2: COLLECT BLOOD

1 PREPARE a timer and tissue.
Not included in the kit, but needed

2 OPEN AND PLACE all materials on a flat and clean surface.

3 WASH hands in warm water and dry. If no warm water is available, rub your hands together.

4 CHOOSE ring finger or middle finger.

5 MASSAGE and rub your hand and finger to increase circulation.

6 CLEAN your finger with an (B) alcohol pad. Let it DRY for 10 seconds.

7 REMOVE the lancet cover.

8 PRESS the (F) lancet against the finger until it clicks.

9 MASSAGE from the base to the tip, and let 2 DROPS of blood fall into the basin (1). If you are having difficulty, wipe the finger clean and squeeze again.

10 WIPE the finger with an (B) alcohol pad, and APPLY the (C) plaster. If needed, press on the plaster to stop bleeding. Start the next step immediately to transfer the blood.

STEP 3: TEST

SQUEEZE the top of the (E) specimen dropper.

DIP the dropper into the blood in the basin, and RELEASE slowly to draw the blood into the dropper.

PLACE the dropper over the well. SQUEEZE the top of the dropper to apply 1 DROP of blood into the well (2).

12 HOLD the (D) buffer bottle vertically, and apply 1 DROP of buffer into the well (3). Do not tilt

13 START the timer. READ the result in 15­20 minutes (4). Do not read past 20 minutes.

Test again using a new kit, or consult a healthcare provider.

STEP 5: DISPOSE
15 PLACE all used components into the (G) disposal bag.

16 SEAL the (G) disposal bag tightly. “CLICK”

17 THROW AWAY the (G) disposal bag in the waste bin.
