ADJUSTABLE HARNESS
FOR ARCO FIELD RECORDER BAGS
USER INSTRUCTIONS
ADJUST THE LENGTH OF THE BACK STRAP
The hip belt should sit comfortably at your waist, and the shoulder harness should sit high on your shoulders so it’s snug around your neck, and the D-rings are parallel to your ears.
Put the harness on your shoulders, and close the belt strap to see how much you need to adjust the back strap.
Remove the harness, and tighten or loosen the back strap to the desired length. It might take a few tries to get the right back strap length.
Tuck away the excess strap length in the elastic loop.
Note: This is a one-time adjustment that you won’t need to repeat unless someone else uses the harness.
ADJUST THE HIP BELT
Put the harness on your shoulders, and close the belt strap. Pull the belt adjustment straps on both sides to tighten the belt strap until it fits snugly around your waist.
Don’t tighten the shoulder straps yet. Leave them loose for now.
STERNUM STRAP
Close the sternum strap, and tighten until snug. The shoulder straps will still be loose.
ATTACHING THE BAG–PART
Attach the shoulder harness carabiners to the top bag’s top D-rings.
The shoulder harness carabiners should easily reach the D-rings. If the shoulder straps are too tight to attach the carabiners, loosen the straps some more until the carabiners reach the D-rings.
Adjust the front and back shoulder adjustment straps for a proper and comfortable fit. This might mean alternately tightening and loosening the front and back shoulder harness straps until the bag sits at the most comfortable position.
For an alternate fit: Follow the instructions in step 4, but attach the shoulder-harness carabiners to the top center D-rings. This can provide a better fit for somebody types and offer a more desirable carry angle.
ATTACHING THE BAG–PART 2
Attach the carabiners on your hips to the bag’s bottom D-rings. Make sure the carabiner straps are long enough to attach the carabiners to the bag. Then tighten the straps on either side of the belt until the bag fits snugly against your body.
FINAL ADJUSTMENT
Continue to adjust each strap until you have arrived at the perfect fit. Attaching the harness to the Field Recorder Bag will get easier with each use.
