The IDAS ZF filter is compatible with ZWO cameras equipped with an M42 male-threaded mount. Install the ZWO-exclusive T-ring onto the ZWO camera. Slowly drop in the ZF filter inside the T-ring. Then, screw in the eyepiece sleeve onto the T-ring. Now, it’s ready to work.

Removal:
When to remove the ZF filter, you can either:FIRST-LIGHT-OPTICS-IDAS ZF-Filter-for-ZWO-M42-Male-Mount-Cameras-FIG- (2)

  • Remove the T-ring from the camera and take out the ZF filter, or
  • Drop softly the ZF filter by moving the camera while closely facing T-ring onto a flat surface. Don’t let the ZF filter fall down while there is a great gap between the filter and the flat surface.

Automatic height-leveling function (an improvement over the previous Z filter)

  • Both the ZF and previous Z filters have 3-point plate springs for automatic height-leveling so there will be no backlash or allowance.
  • Previous Z: the automation range is ca. 0.5mm (filter heights: 2.9 to 3.4mm)
  • ZF Filter: the automation range is ca. 1.5mm (filter heights: 3 to 4.5mm).FIRST-LIGHT-OPTICS-IDAS ZF-Filter-for-ZWO-M42-Male-Mount-Cameras-FIG- (3)
