High Quality and Durability

Excellent Audio Performance

Yamaha drew on its long experience as a manufacturer of top quality HiFi speaker systems to develop these three all-weather models. We were able to make them extremely durable while still maintaining audio performance up to Yamaha standards. The woofer uses a highly responsive cone and a fluid-cooled soft dome tweeter, both specially processed for water resistance. The internal structure has been carefully designed for optimal time alignment between the two units, providing proper sound imaging. A waveguide and front baffle ensure good sound dispersion characteristics. Tonal clarity in all frequency ranges is excellent, with very low distortion.Yamaha-NS-AW992BL-8-Inches-Cone-All-Weather-Speakers-fig-2

All-Weather Construction

With a plastic cabinet and specially processed woofer and tweeter, these speakers will perform reliably when mounted outdoors. They are water resistant, and are not affected by sunlight (UV rays) or high or low temperatures.

Versatile Applications

Designed primarily for use as outdoor speakers, they can add to the fun of backyard parties, supply background music on patios and decks or be mounted in or near the garage. They can be used indoors or outdoors at public facilities, as well as inside shops. And of course, they can also serve as surround speakers in home theater installations.

FAQs

Are Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers waterproof?

Yamaha’s NS-AW992BL Outdoor Speakers (Pair, Black) deliver superb sound wherever you install them and are equally at home indoors or out. The speakers have cabinets that are drip-, water-, and UV-resistant in order to withstand Mother Nature’s elements.

Can you leave Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers outside in winter?

Generally speaking, as long as they aren’t in contact with moisture, you can leave them in the cold. It would be great if you constructed some sort of shelter for outside speakers that are permanently installed to shield them from the elements. Your speakers won’t suffer permanent harm from the cold alone.

Can Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers get wet?

Although they are designed expressly to withstand the elements, weatherproof speakers are only water resistant, not waterproof. Weatherproof speakers should be fine when exposed to moisture, steam, rain, or sprinklers. Though keeping them protected will make them last longer.

How do I protect my Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speakers from dust?

You can safely use dust pads, dry towels, air canisters, and vacuum cleaners on your loudspeakers; just be careful not to harm the cone drivers or tweeter. Use no liquids at all on your speakers.

Can Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speaker wire be run outdoors?

Thankfully, you can complete this task quickly on your own. You should take extra care to mark and drill holes in the proper locations while keeping the type of speaker wire in mind if you wish to run speaker wire from inside to outside. Run the wire through the hole after it has been drilled, then use sealant.

Can cold weather damage Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speakers?

Cold weather won’t harm speakers or have an impact on their performance. That’s because a speaker’s essential parts are unaffected by chilly temperatures. However, freezing temperatures can be detrimental to speakers in a humid environment or when there is moisture present.

How long do Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers last?

If they are properly cared for and maintained, outdoor speakers may often last up to ten years. The temperature and humidity of the environment, sunlight exposure, closeness to water (including swimming pools), owner maintenance, and the calibre of the wiring, mounting hardware, and weatherproof sealing all have an impact on how long outdoor speakers last.

How many watts should an Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speaker be?

Outdoor speakers have wattages that range from 60 to 300 watts. For settings under 300 square feet, two 60-watt speakers spaced 20 feet apart offer enough coverage. On the upper end, a pair of outdoor Magnat Symbol X 130 speakers can handle 200 watts of power.

How high should Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers be?

They will project sound farther if you put them higher, but the sound will thin out as a result. For any placement, we advise keeping speakers at a distance of under ten feet. Install the loudspeakers with a small downward tilt if you must place them in an exposed location to aid with drainage.

What is the maximum distance of Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speaker wire?

Although longer runs with thicker wire are theoretically possible, residential audio lengths are advised to not exceed 50 feet (15 m). As the wire gets bigger, the gauge numbers in SWG (standard wire gauge) and AWG (American wire gauge) get smaller.

How do I choose Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speaker wire?

Consider that the larger the number, the thinner the wire and the shorter the run, when referring to wire gauge. For distances of up to 80 feet, use 16-gauge wire. Increase to 14-gauge wire for runs between 80 and 200 feet. Choose 12-gauge wire if you intend to extend further than 200 feet.

Are Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speakers passive?

The majority of outdoor speakers are passive devices, which means they will require power because they lack built-in amplification..

How do you dry a Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speaker?

Leaving moisture on its surface could cause the speaker to freeze and malfunction, especially in colder climates. After utilising the speaker, make sure to wipe off any remaining moisture. Place the speaker on a dry towel or piece of fabric. After that, dry the speaker at ambient temperature until no moisture is left.

How many Yamaha NS-AW992BL  speakers do I need for patio?

One pair of outdoor speakers should be used to cover an outside space between 200 and 400 square feet, which translates to a patio or deck size around 20 × 20 feet. This recommendation comes from professional installers.

How do you protect Yamaha NS-AW992BL  outdoor speaker wires?

Running speaker wires via PVC piping is a quick and low-cost technique to protect exposed speaker wires. Another layer of security will be added if the wires can be buried. You should seal the PVC pipe, whether it is exposed or buried, to keep bugs, debris, and moisture out.
