KOBALT 59188 High Carbon Wire Drain Auger

WARNINGS

• Do not use this product until you read and understand all instructions.

• Do not use this drum auger in a drain if chemical cleaners have just been used .

CAUTION: Always use drill at consistent lower speed. (less than 400 rpm).

PREPARATION

• Before operating product, make sure all parts are present.
• Compare parts with package contents list and hardware contents list.
• If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to operate the product.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Push toggle switch to unlock cable (see Fig. 1!Unlock).
   
2. Pull cable out of the drum and push into drain as far as it will go (see Fig. 2).
   
3. Pull toggle switch to engage auto feed mechanism (see Fig. 1 Lock).
4. If using a power drill (see Fig. 4), always use drill at consistent lower speed (less than 400 rpm).
   
5. Turn the drum clockwise and the cable will gradually feed into the drain until it reaches a clog or elbow (see Fig. 2). Cable can also be rapidly advanced/retracted by feeding in and out of the drum by hand.
6. Carefully work the cable through the clog. Do not force the cable. If the cable stops turning, spin the cable without advancing it, or advancing the cable very slowly. If the cable becomes stuck in the clog, back the cable out of the clog by turning the drum in reverse. Repeat above steps, if necessary.
7. Once clog is cleared, turn the drum in reverse, retrieve cable back into drum (see Fig. 3).
   
8. Flush Drain.
