MAX-20A Cordless Hand Vacuum

Product Information

The Cordless Hand Vacuum has a 500 ml capacity and is model
MAX-20A with code 102446. It is powered by a 20V ion-lithium
battery with a capacity of 2 Ah and has an autonomy of
approximately 20 minutes. The charging time for the battery is
around 60 minutes. The vacuum has an input voltage of 127V,
frequency of 60Hz, and a current of 1.1A. The output voltage is
21.5V and 3.5A. The power cable has cable clamps type Y and the
construction class of the tool is Class III. The charger
construction class is reinforced insulation, and the IP grade is
IP20.

Product Usage Instructions

Before using the Cordless Hand Vacuum, read the manual
thoroughly to understand the technical data, power requirements,
and general power tool safety warnings. Keep the manual for future
reference. To gain the best performance of the tool, prolong the
duty life, make the warranty valid if necessary, and to avoid
hazards of fatal injuries, it is crucial to read and understand the
manual before using the tool.

When using the tool, avoid exposing it to rain, liquids, and/or
dampness as it may alter the build quality of the electric
insulation. Ensure that all power sources are disconnected before
gaining access to the terminals. Only use a grounded extension
cable labeled for outdoors use when operating power tools outdoors
to reduce the risk of electric shock.

If the power cable gets damaged, it should only be replaced by
the manufacturer or at an authorized service center. Do not alter
the plug in any way. When using an extension cable, verify that the
gauge is enough for the power that your product needs. Refer to the
table provided in the manual to determine the right size to use
depending on cable’s length and the ampere capability shown in the
tool’s nameplate. When in doubt, use the next higher gauge.

Power Requirements

WARNING Tools with double insulation are equipped with a polarized plug (one prong is wider than the other). This plug will only fit in the right way into a polarized outlet. If the plug cannot be introduced into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still doesn’t fit, call a qualified electrician to install for you a polarized outlet. Do not alter the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need of both a grounded third power cord with three prongs or a grounded power connection.

WARNING When using an extension cable, verify the gauge is enough for the power that your product needs. A lower gauge cable will cause voltage drop in the line, resulting in power loss and overheating. The following table shows the right size to use depending on cable’s length and the ampere capability shown in the tool’s nameplate. When in doubt use the next higher gauge.

General power tools safety warnings

WARNING! Read carefully all safety warnings and instruction listed below. Failure to comply with any of these warnings may result in electric shock, fire and / or severe damage. Save all warnings and instructions for future references.

Work area Keep your work area clean, and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas may cause accidents.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothes and gloves away from the moving parts. Loose clothes or long hair may get caught in moving parts.

Never use the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Sparks generated by power tools may ignite the flammable material.

If you have dust extraction and recollection devices connected onto the tool, inspect their connections and use them correctly. Using these devices reduce dust-related risks.

Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance while operating the tool. Distractions may cause loosing control.
Electrical Safety The tool plug must match the power outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools. Modified plugs and different power outlets increase the risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, electric ranges and refrigerators. The risk of electric shock increases if your body is grounded.

Power Tools Use and Care Do not force the tool. Use the adequate tool for your application. The correct tool delivers a better and safer job at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the tool if the switch is not working properly. Any power tool that cannot be turned ON or OFF is dangerous and should be repaired before operating.
Disconnect the tool from the power source and / or battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing. These measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the tool.

Do not expose the tool to rain or wet conditions. Water entering into the tool increases the risk of electric shock.
Do not force the cord. Never use the cord to carry, lift or unplug the tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
When operating a tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Using an adequate outdoor extension cord reduces the risk of electric shock.
If operating the tool in a damp location cannot be avoided, use a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Using a GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of distraction while operating the tool may result in personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as safety glasses, anti-dust mask, non-skid shoes, hard hats and hearing protection used in the right conditions significantly reduce personal injury.

Store tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons that are not familiar with the tool or its instructions to operate the tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

Service the tool. Check the mobile parts are not misaligned or stuck. There should not be broken parts or other conditions that may affect its operation. Repair any damage before using the tool. Most accidents are caused due to poor maintenance to the tools.

Keep the cutting accessories sharp and clean. Cutting accessories in good working conditions are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.

Use the tool, components and accessories in accordance with these instructions and the projected way to use it for the type of tool when in adequate working conditions. Using the tool for applications different from those it was designed for, could
result in a hazardous situation.

Use and care of the battery-operated tool

A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when

used with another battery pack.

Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

Prevent unintentional starting up. Ensure the switch is in the “OFF” position before connecting into the power source and / or battery as well as when carrying the tool. Transporting power tools with the finger on the switch or connecting power tools with the switch in the “ON” position may cause accidents.
Remove any wrench or vice before turning the power tool on. Wrenches or vices left attached to rotating parts of the tool may result in personal injury.

When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Service

This enables a better control on the tool during unexpected situations.

Safety warnings for the use of vacuum cleaners
Dangerous materials
WARNING · Do not vacuum or use the vacuum cleaner near flammable liquids, explosive gases or vapors such as gasoline or other fuels, lighter fluid, hot liquids, cleaners, oil-based paints, natural gas, hydrogen or explosive dusts such as coal dust, magnesium powder, grain dust or gunpowder. Sparks inside the engine can ignite flammable vapors or dusts.
WARNING · Do not vacuum anything that is burning or producing smoke, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
CAUTION · To reduce the risk of health hazards, do not vacuum toxic materials. · Do not vacuum masonry dust or soot from the chimney, as it is a very fine dust and will not be trapped by the filter, which may cause damage to the motor. When vacuuming fine dust use a special dust filter (sold separately).

While operating the hand vacuum

CAUTION · Keep away from openings and moving

parts; hair, loose clothing, fingers and any other body

parts.

· Do not use or store near hazardous materials.

· Do not leave the vacuum cleaner running unattended.

· Do not leave vacuum cleaner unattended when plugged

into power source.

· Do not place any objects over the ventilation openings.

· Do not operate the vacuum cleaner with the vents

blocked; keep them free of dust, lint, hair, or anything that

reduces air flow.

CAUTION · Do not use the vacuum cleaner to

vacuum liquids.

· Do not use the vacuum cleaner with a broken filter or

without the filter installed.

· To reduce the risk of falls, use extreme caution when

cleaning stairs.

· If the vacuum cleaner is not working properly; is missing

parts, has been dropped or damaged, left outdoors, or

dropped into water, take it to a

Au-

thorized Service Center.

· Turn the vacuum cleaner off before removing the

battery.

· Remove the battery when not in use or before servicing.

· Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Particular care

should be taken when used by or near children.

· Do not expose vacuum cleaner to rain. Store indoors.

· Use ear protectors when performing services that make

noises above 85 dB.

Batteries and charger
DANGER · Use only Truper Max chargers to charge the tool battery. Using any other charger may result in fire or risk of injury.
DANGER · Use only batteries specifically designed for the tool. Other batteries may create a risk of injury or fire. · Connect the charger to an alternating current (AC) supply only.
DANGER · Do not use the charger outdoors. · Respect the “+/-” polarity when charging. · Never recharge a leaking battery. · Do not use batteries or the charger for purposes other than those for which they were designed. · Do not modify the battery or charger contacts. · Never expose the batteries to temperatures higher than 122 °F.
DANGER · Never expose batteries to fire, they could explode.
CAUTION · Batteries should be kept away from any metallic object such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or any other object that could cause the terminals to make contact, coins, keys, nails, screws or any other object that could make the terminals make contact; because it would cause a short circuit that could cause burns or fires.
CAUTION · Under extreme conditions, battery fluid may leak. If so, avoid any contact. If accidental contact occurs, wash with abundant water, rinse with lemon juice and vinegar. If the liquid enters in contact with the eyes, wash with abundant water during several minutes and look for medical help immediately. Liquid ejected from the batteries could cause irradiation or burns.
CAUTION · To maximize battery life, fully discharge the battery at least once a month. Do not leave the battery uncharged for more than three months. Always charge the battery to its maximum capacity. Before using the machine for the first time, charge the battery for a minimum of 6 hours. · Avoid stopping constantly while vacuuming to prevent damage to the battery.

Filter

· Place the fabric filter (A) inside the screen (B).

· In order for the filter to cover the inner surface of the

screen, place the filter frame (C) inside the fabric filter.

· Make sure that the cloth filter is not folded between the

screen and the frame. · With its components assembled, place the screen into the

dust compartment cover (D).

· Turn the screen counterclockwise until its notches fit into

the slots in the dust compartment lid.

Preparation

Charging the battery

1. Plug the charger plug into a 127 V~ socket.

2. Insert the battery into the charger by sliding it into

the charger as shown in the picture. The red light

should come on, indicating that charging has

started.

· When the battery is fully charged, the green light

will turn on and the red light will turn off.

· Disconnect the charger from the power supply

when charging is complete.

· If the red-light flashes, the battery is defective,

replace it with a new one.

· If the green light flashes, the battery temperature

is below 32 °F or above 113 °F. Wait until the battery temperature is in the correct range before charging.

Considerations for battery use

The battery comes DISCHARGED from the factory. It will need to be charged for approximately 1 hour before use. The normal charging temperature is 32 °F to 113 °F. Outside this range, charging is automatically suspended until it reaches the correct temperature. The normal discharge / working temperature is 32 °F to 167 °F. If 167 °F is exceeded, the electronic control shuts off the power to the tool until the temperature reaches the optimum temperature range again. When the battery is below normal voltage during work, the tool stops working. Between each charge, give the charger 15 minutes rest. In a hot environment or after prolonged use, the battery may become too hot to be recharged. Allow the battery to cool before attempting to recharge.

Battery installation

· Once the battery is charged, insert it into the receptacle

on the back of the vacuum housing.

· Slide the battery into the receptacle until you hear a click

to make sure it is securely in place.

· To remove the battery, press the latch (A) and slide the

battery out.

· To make sure the battery is charged, press the indicator

button (B). The color of the light indicates the charge level.

NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and ambient temperature, the indication may differ slightly from the actual capacity.

Switching on and off
· Turn the switch (A) to the ON position (ON). · To turn the vacuum cleaner off, turn the switch to the OFF position, and disconnect the battery from the receptacle.
CAUTION · Always verify that the switch is in the OFF position before starting the vacuum cleaner. Always check that the switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery. The autonomy of the machine is about 20 minutes. To double this value, use a 4 Ah, MAX-BA4 battery (not included). · Always keep the filter clean for best performance.

Cleaning
· Remove the battery before any cleaning operation. · Clean the vacuum cleaner with a damp cloth impregnated with a few drops of detergent and dry it afterwards. · Do not use solvents, products containing chlorine or abrasive products to clean the appliance. · Do not immerse the vacuum cleaner in water or any other liquid, nor put it under the tap.

Filter cleaning
· Remove the dust compartment cover (E). · Disassemble the filter components. · Hand wash the filters with a mild detergent or dishwashing soap. Make sure that the fabric filter is thoroughly dry before replacing it. · To assemble the filter components, follow the instructions on page 7.

Emptying of dust compartment
· Empty the dust compartment (C) when residues are visible through its transparent walls, when it is full or when the unit is not operating at full power. · Press the compartment opening button (D) and turn the compartment downwards to release it. · Remove the dust compartment cover (E). · Place the debris in a suitable container. · Remove any remaining debris from the filters, the lid and the inside of the compartment. · To assemble the compartment, follow the above steps in reverse order.

Troubleshooting

Problem
Vacuum cleaner does not work

Cause
· Low battery.
· The battery has overheated. · Switch is in the off position.

· Battery not inserted correctly.

Solution

· Check that the battery has an adequate charge level,

otherwise charge it.

· Let the machine rest for a few minutes and try again.

· Turn the switch to on, in case the machine does not

start take it to a

· Remove the battery and make sure it is inserted

correctly by inserting it into the vacuum cleaner’s

receptacle until it clicks.

· Insert the battery correctly into the charger.

Solución de problemas

Problema
La aspiradora no funciona

Causa
· Batería baja.
· La batería se ha sobre calentado.
· El interruptor está en la posición de apagado.
· Batería mal colacada.

Solución
· Revise que la batería presenta un nivel de carga adecuado, de lo contrario cárguela. · Deje descansar la máquina por unos minutos e intente de nuevo. · Mueva el interruptor a encendido, en caso de que la máquina no encienda llévela a un Centro de Servicio Autorizado · Retire la batería y asegúrese de insertarla correctamente insertándola en el receptáculo de la aspiradora hasta que se escuche un “click”.

Sale polvo por las ventilas del motor

· No está colocado el filtro o éste se ha dañado. · El filtro no fue instalado adecuadamente.
· Se daño el sello de labio de la tapa del compartimento de polvo.

· Coloque o reemplace el filtro.
· Ensamble el filtro de acuerdo con la sección ensamble de la página 7. · Lleve la máquina a un Centro de Servicio Autorizado

Reducción de eficiencia de la máquina (vibración del motor, poca succión del motor)

· El filtro se encuentra sucio o húmedo.
· Hay un bloqueo en alguna de las boquillas, adaptador o extensión.

· Retire el filtro y límpielo como se indica en la sección limpieza del filtro de la pág. 7. No instale el filtro hasta que éste se encuentre seco por completo. · Reemplace el filtro por uno nuevo. · Revise los accesorios, en caso de que algún objeto obstruya el flujo de aire retírelo.

Escurre el polvo del contenedor de polvo

· Es normal que un poco de polvo se

Mantenimiento

Limpieza
· Retire la batería antes de realizar cualquier operación de limpieza. · Limpie la aspiradora con un paño húmedo impregnado con unas gotas de detergente y séquelo después. · No utilice disolventes, productos con cloro, o productos abrasivos, para limpiar el aparato. · No sumerja la aspiradora en agua u otro líquido, ni la ponga bajo el grifo.

Limpieza del filtro
· Extraiga la tapa del compartimento de polvo (E). · Desarme los componentes del filtro. · Lave a mano los filtros con un detergente suave o jabón para lavavajillas. Asegúrese de que el filtro de tela esté bien seco antes de volver a colocarlo. · Para armar los componentes del filtro siga las indicaciones de la página 7.

Vaciado de compartimento de polvo
· Vacie el compartimento de polvo (C) cuando los residuos sean visibles a través de sus paredes transparentes, cuando esté lleno o cuando el equipo no funcione con toda su potencia. · Pulse el botón de apertura del compartimento (D) y gire el compartimento hacia abajo para liberarlo. · Extraiga la tapa del compartimento de polvo (E). · Coloque los residuos en un contenedor apropiado. · Remueva los restos de suciedad que queden en los filtros, la tapa y el interior del compartimento. · Para montar el compartimento, siga de manera inversa los pasos anteriores.

Preparación

Puesta en marcha

Encendido y apagado

· Coloque el interruptor (A) en la posición de encendido

(ON).

· Para apagar la aspiradora coloque el interruptor en la

posición de apagado (OFF), y desconecte la batería del

receptáculo.

ATENCIÓN · Siempre verifique que el interruptor se

encuentre en la posición de apagado antes de insertar la

batería.

La autonomía de la máquina es alrededor de 20 minutos.

Para duplicar este valor, utilice una batería MAX-BA4 (no

incluída) de 4 Ah.

· Mantenga siempre limpio el filtro para obtener un mejor

funcionamiento.

· Coloque el filtro de tela (A) dentro de la malla (B).

· Para que el filtro cubra la superficie interna de la malla

coloque el armazón del filtro (C) dentro del filtro de tela.

· Asegúrese de que el filtro de tela no quede doblado

entre la malla y el armazón. · Con sus componentes ensamblados, coloque la malla en

la tapa del compartimento de polvo (D).

· Gire la malla en sentido antihorario hasta que sus

muescas encajen en las ranuras de la tapa del comparti-

mento de polvo.

Preparación

Carga de la batería

1. Conecte la clavija del cargador en un

tomacorriente de 127 V~

2. Inserte la batería en el cargador deslizándola

como se muestra en la imagen. La luz roja deberá

encenderse, indicando que la carga se ha iniciado.

· Cuando la batería se encuentre completamente

cargada, la luz verde se encenderá y la roja se

apagará.

· Desconecte el cargador de la corriente una vez

concluida la carga.

· Si la luz roja parpadea es señal de que la batería

está defectuosa, reemplácela por una nueva.

· Si la luz verde parpadea es señal de que la temperatura de la batería es menor a 0 °C o mayor a 45 °C. Espere a que la

temperatura de la batería se encuentre en el rango adecuado para poder cargarla.

Consideraciones para el uso de la batería

La batería viene DESCARGADA de fábrica. Será necesario que la cargue por aproximadamente 1 hora antes de poder usarla. La temperatura normal de carga es de 0 °C a 45 °C Fuera de este rango se suspende la carga automáticamente hasta que alcance la temperatura correcta. La temperatura normal de descarga / trabajo es de 0 °C a 75 °C. Si los 75 °C se exceden, el control electrónico apaga la energía de la herramienta hasta que la temperatura alcance de nuevo el rango óptimo de temperatura. Cuando la batería está debajo de la tensión normal durante el trabajo, la herramienta deja de funcionar. Entre cada carga, dé al cargador 15 minutos de descanso. En un ambiente cálido o después de uso prolongado, es posible que la batería se caliente demasiado como para ser recargada. Permita que la batería se enfríe antes de intentar recargarla.

Instalación de la batería

· Una vez cargada la batería, insértela en el receptáculo de
la parte posterior de la carcasa de la aspiradora.
· Deslice la batería en su receptáculo hasta escuchar un
click para asegurarse de que esté bien colocada. · Para retirar la batería presione el seguro (A) y deslice la batería hacia afuera.
· Para asegurarse de que las batería esté cargada presione el botón indicador (B). El color de la luz indica el nivel de carga.

Advertencias de Seguridad para uso de aspiradoras

Materiales peligrosos
ADVERTENCIA · No aspire o utilice la aspiradora cerca de líquidos inflamables, gases o vapores explosivos como gasolina u otros combustibles, líquido para encendedor, líquidos calientes, limpiadores, pinturas con base de aceite, gas natural, hidrógeno o polvos explosivos tales como polvo de carbón, polvo de magnesio, polvo de granos o pólvora. Las chispas dentro del motor pueden encender los vapores o polvos inflamables.
ADVERTENCIA · No aspire nada que se esté quemando o produciendo humo, tal como cigarrillos, cerillos o cenizas calientes.
ATENCIÓN · Para reducir el riesgo de daños a la salud, no aspire materiales tóxicos. · No aspire polvo de mampostería u hollín de la chimenea, ya que es un polvo muy fino y no será atrapado por el filtro, lo que puede ocasionar daños al motor. Cuando aspire polvo fino utilice un filtro especial para polvo (se vende por separado).

Mientras opera la aspiradora

ATENCIÓN · Mantenga alejados de las aberturas

y partes móviles; el cabello, la ropa suelta, los dedos y

cualquier otra parte del cuerpo.

· No se utilice ni almacene cerca de materiales peligrosos.

· No deje la aspiradora funcionando sin atenderla.

· No deje desatendida la aspiradora cuando esté

enchufada a la fuente de energía.

· No coloque ningún objeto sobre las aberturas de

ventilación.

· No opere la aspiradora con las aberturas de ventilación

bloqueadas; manténgalas libres de polvo, pelusa, cabello

o cualquier cosa que reduzca el flujo de aire.

ATENCIÓN · No utilice la aspiradora para aspirar

líquidos.

· No utilice la aspiradora con el filtro roto o sin el filtro

instalado.

· Para reducir el riesgo de caídas, tenga extremo cuidado

cuando limpie escaleras.

· Si la aspiradora no funciona como es debido; le faltan

partes, se ha dejado caer o está dañada, se quedó en el

exterior o cayó al agua, llévela a un Centro de Servicio

Autorizado

· Apague la aspiradora antes de remover la batería.

· Retire la batería cuando no esté en uso o antes de darle

servicio.

· No permita que se utilice como juguete. Se debe tener

particular atención cuando la utilicen niños o cuando

estén cerca.

· No exponga la aspiradora a la lluvia. Almacene en

interiores.

· Utilice protectores auriculares, cuando ejecute servicios

que hagan ruidos superiores a 85 dB

PELIGRO · Utilice únicamente cargadores Truper Max para cargar la batería de la herramienta. Usar otro cargador puede provocar un incendio o riesgos de lesión.
PELIGRO · Use únicamente baterías diseñadas específicamente para la herramienta. Otras baterías podrían generar riesgos de lesión o incendio. · Conecte el cargador únicamente a un suministro de corriente alterna (c.a.).
PELIGRO · No use el cargador a la intemperie. · Respete la polaridad “+/-” al cargar. · Nunca recargue una batería que gotee. · No use baterías o el cargador para propósitos distintos para los cuales fueron diseñados. · No modifique los contactos de la batería ni del cargador. · Nunca exponga las baterías a temperaturas superiores a 50 °C
PELIGRO · Nunca exponga las baterías al fuego, podrían explotar.
ATENCIÓN · Las baterías deben mantenerse alejadas de cualquier objeto metálico como clips, monedas, llaves, clavos, tornillos o cualquier otro objeto que pudiera hacer que las terminales hagan contacto; pues provocaría un cortocircuito que podría ocasionar quemaduras o incendios.
ATENCIÓN · Bajo condiciones extremas, el líquido de la batería podría derramarse. De ser así, evite cualquier contacto. De ocurrir contacto accidental, lave con agua abundante, enjuague con jugo de limón y vinagre. Si el líquido entrara en contacto con los ojos, lave con agua abundante durante varios minutos y busque ayuda médica de inmediato. El líquido expulsado de las baterías podría causar irradiación o quemaduras.
ATENCIÓN · Para maximizar la vida útil de la batería descárguela por completo por lo menos una vez al mes. No deje la batería sin recargar por más de tres meses. Siempre cargue la batería a su máxima capacidad. Antes de usar la máquina por primera vez, cargue la batería por un mínimo de 6 horas. ·Evite detenerse constantemente mientras aspira, para evitar daños a la batería.

Advertencias generales de seguridad para herramientas eléctricas

¡ADVERTENCIA! Lea detenidamente todas las advertencias de seguridad y todas las instrucciones que se enlistan a continuación. La omisión de alguna de ellas puede dar como resultado un choque eléctrico, incendio y/o daño serio. Conserve las advertencias y las instrucciones para futuras referencias.

Área de trabajo Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien iluminada. Las áreas desordenadas y obscuras son propensas a accidentes.
No maneje la herramienta en ambientes explosivos, como en presencia de líquido, gas o polvo inflamables. Las herramientas eléctricas producen chispas que pueden encender material inflamable.
Mantenga alejados a los niños y curiosos cuando opere la herramienta. Las distracciones pueden hacer que pierda el control.
Seguridad eléctrica La clavija de la herramienta debe coincidir con el tomacorriente. Nunca modifique una clavija. No use ningún tipo de adaptador para clavijas de herramientas puestas a tierra. Clavijas modificadas y enchufes diferentes aumentan el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Evite el contacto del cuerpo con superficies puestas a tierra como tuberías, radiadores, cocinas eléctricas y refrigeradores. Hay un mayor riesgo de choque eléctrico si el cuerpo está puesto a tierra.
No exponga la herramienta a la lluvia o condiciones de humedad. El agua que ingresa en la herramienta aumenta el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

Retire cualquier llave o herramienta de ajuste antes de arrancar la herramienta eléctrica. Las llaves o herramientas que quedan en las partes rotativas de la herramienta pueden causar un daño personal.
No sobrepase su campo de acción. Mantenga ambos pies bien asentados sobre el suelo y conserve el equilibrio en todo momento. Esto permite un mejor control de la herramienta en situaciones inesperadas.
Vista adecuadamente. No vista ropa suelta o joyas. Mantenga su pelo, su ropa y guantes alejados de las piezas en movimiento. La ropa o el pelo suelto o las joyas pueden quedar atrapados en las piezas en movimiento.
En caso de contar con dispositivos de extracción y recolección de polvo conectados a la herramienta, verifique sus conexiones y úselos correctamente. El uso de estos dispositivos reduce los riesgos relacionados con el polvo.
Uso y cuidados de la herramienta No fuerce la herramienta. Use la herramienta adecuada para el trabajo a realizar. La herramienta adecuada hace un trabajo mejor y más seguro cuando se usa al ritmo para el que fue diseñado.

No fuerce el cable. Nunca use el cable para transportar, levantar o desconectar la herramienta. Mantenga el cable lejos del calor, aceite, orillas afiladas o piezas en movimiento. Los cables dañados o enredados aumentan el riesgo de choque eléctrico.
Cuando maneje una herramienta en exteriores, use una extensión especial para uso en exteriores. El uso de una extensión adecuada para exteriores reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

No use la herramienta si el interruptor no funciona. Cualquier herramienta eléctrica que no pueda encenderse o
apagarse es peligrosa y debe repararse antes de ser operada. Este aparato no se destina para utilizarse por personas (incluyendo niños) cuyas capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales sean diferentes o estén reducidas, o carezcan de experiencia o conocimiento. A menos que dichas personas reciban supervisión o capacitación para el
funcionamiento del aparato por una persona responsable de su seguridad.

Si el uso de la herramienta en un lugar húmedo es inevitable, use una alimentación protegida por un interruptor de circuito de falla a tierra (GFCI). El uso de un GFCI reduce el riesgo de choque eléctrico.

Desconecte la herramienta de la fuente de alimentación y/o de la batería antes de efectuar cualquier ajuste, cambiar accesorios o almacenarla. Estas medidas reducen el riesgo de arrancar la herramienta accidentalmente.

Seguridad personal Esté alerta, vigile lo que está haciendo y use el sentido común cuando maneje una herramienta. No la use si está cansado o bajo la influencia de drogas, alcohol o medicamentos. Un momento de distracción mientras maneja la herramienta puede causar un daño personal.
Use equipo de seguridad. Use siempre protección para los ojos. El uso de equipo de seguridad como lentes de seguridad, mascarilla antipolvo, zapatos antideslizantes, casco y protección para los oídos en condiciones apropiadas, reduce de manera significativa los daños personales.

Almacene las herramientas fuera del alcance de los niños y no permita su manejo por personas no familiarizadas con las herramientas o con las instrucciones. Las herramientas eléctricas son peligrosas en manos no entrenadas.
Déle mantenimiento a la herramienta. Compruebe que las partes móviles no estén desalineadas o trabadas, que no haya piezas rotas u otras condiciones que puedan afectar su operación. Repare cualquier daño antes de usar la herramienta. Muchos accidentes son causados por el escaso mantenimiento de las herramientas.

Evite arranques accidentales. Asegúrese de que el interruptor está en posición “apagado” antes de conectar a la fuente de alimentación y/o a la batería o transportar la herramienta. Transportar herramientas eléctricas con el dedo sobre el interruptor o conectar herramientas eléctricas que tienen el interruptor en posición de “encendido” puede causar accidentes.

Requerimientos eléctricos

ADVERTENCIA Las herramientas de doble aislamiento y aislamiento reforzado están equipadas con una clavija polarizada (una pata es más ancha que la otra). Esta clavija cabe en cualquier enchufe polarizado y sólo puede conectarse de una forma. Si la clavija no cabe en el enchufe, voltéelo. Si aún así no cabe, póngase en contacto con un electricista calificado o instale un enchufe polarizado. No altere la clavija en forma alguna. Ambos tipos de aislamiento eliminan la necesidad de un cable de corriente de tres partes con conexión a tierra o de un sistema de corriente eléctrica con conexión a tierra.
ADVERTENCIA Al usar un cable de extensión, asegúrese de usar el calibre suficiente para transportar la corriente que consumirá su herramienta. Un cable de un calibre inferior ocasionará caídas de tensión en la línea, teniendo como resultado pérdida de potencia y sobrecalentamiento del motor. La siguiente tabla muestra el tamaño correcto que debe usarse dependiendo de la longitud del cable y de la capacidad de amperes indicada en la placa de datos de la herramienta.
