Before first use

Thoroughly clean the parts that will come in contact with food before you use the appliance for the first time (see Fig. 6).

Application

Note:

  • Do not exceed the maximum quantities and processing times indicated in the Fig. 2.
  • Do not operate the appliance for more than 60 seconds at a time when processing heavy loads and let it cool down to room temperature for next operation.
  • Never fill the multi chopper and on-the-go cup with hot ingredients.
Using the blender (Fig. 3)

Note: Never overfill the blender jar above the maximum level indication (0.6 liters) to avoid spillage.
The blender is intended for:

  • Blending fluids, e.g. dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixed drinks, shakes.
  • Mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or mayonnaise.
  • Pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making baby food.
Using the filter (HR2874 only) (Fig. 3)

Note: You can order the filter as an extra accessory from your Philips dealer. With the filter you can make delicious fresh fruit juices, cocktails or soy milk. The filter prevents pips and skins from ending up in your drink.

Using the on-the-go cup (Fig. 4)

Note: Never overfill the on-the-go cup above the maximum level indication (0.6 liters) to avoid spillage.
Make your smoothies or shakes directly with the on-the-go cup. Remove the blade unit and attach the on-the-go lid. Then you can bring the on-the-go cup out and drink directly by the lid.

Using the multi-chopper (HR2874 and HR2876 only) (Fig. 5)

Note:

  • Do not fill the beaker beyond the maximum indication. See the table for the advised quantities.
  •  You can order the multi-chopper as an extra accessory from your Philips dealer. The multi-chopper is intended for
  • Chopping ingredients like onion, garlic, herbs, meat, etc.
  • Grinding dry ingredients such as peppercorns, sesame seeds, rice, wheat, coconut flesh, nuts (shelled), coffee beans, dried soy beans, dried peas, cheese, breadcrumbs, etc.

Overheat protection

This appliance is equipped with overheat protection. If the appliance overheats, it switches off automatically. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down for 30 minutes. Then put the mains plug back into the power outlet and switch on the appliance again. Please contact your Philips dealer or an authorized Philips service center if the overheat protection is activated too often.
