Intended use

In combination with a Medela disposable bottle, the teat is intended to feed human milk and other liquids of a similar consistency to infants.

Important safety information

For your child’s safety and health WARNING!

  • Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids will cause tooth decay.
    – Tooth decay in young children can occur even when non-sweetened fluids are used. This can occur if the baby is allowed to use the teat for long periods through the day and particularly through the night, when saliva flow is reduced or if it is used as a soother.
  • Always check food temperature before feeding.
  • Throw away the first signs of damage or weakness.
  • Keep components not in use out of the reach of children.
  • Never attach to cords, ribbons, laces, or loose parts of clothing.
    The child can be strangled.
  • Always use this product with adult supervision.
    – Accidents have occurred when babies have been left alone with drinking equipment due to the baby falling or if the product has been disassembled.
  • Never use feeding teats as a soother.
  • Do not use if there are signs of damage or weakness to either the primary packaging or the product.
  • Single-use only.
    – This is a single-use product and shall be disposed of after first use.
  • Due to strangulation hazards do not extend cords or loops.
  • Do not warm milk in a microwave oven as this may cause uneven heating and could scald the baby.
  • Only touch the locking ring of the teat in order to avoid contamination.
  • Do not expose the product to direct sunlight or heat.
  • Use only Medela’s original accessories to ensure the proper function.

Application

How to use

  1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  2. Open the packaging.
  3. Screw the disposable hospital teat onto the bottle with reasonable torque to ensure proper function.
  4. Start the feeding session.

Note: Use packaging as hygienic protection to cover the teat when not actively feeding.

Cleaning and hygiene

The disposable hospital teat is a Ready-to-Use product. It is hygienically safe to be used without prior cleaning.

A new disposable teat is required for each feeding session.
Product types: Two variants with different flow characteristics are available:

  • Medium flow teat – red packaging- (max. 50 ml/min) Medium flowmedela 101042183 Disposable Hospital Teat - icon 1: Suitable for infants who do not require slower flow and have demonstrated the ability to coordinate feeding.
  • Slow flow teat – blue packaging- (max. 28 ml/min) Slow flowmedela 101042183 Disposable Hospital Teat - icon 2: Suitable for infants who have difficulties with faster flow and feeding coordination.
