Modes of operation
Touch MODE Selection panel to enter MODE Selection screen
- BABY MODE: Set temperature: 34oC – 37.5oC. In
BABY MODE, the warmer provides stable control of the baby’s skin
temperature by automatically adjusting the heater power to
compensate for varying physiological and environmental
conditions. - PREWARM MODE: Set temperature: not available.
In PREWARM MODE, the warmer provides general alarm-free prewarming
of the heater and environment above the warmer mattress. - MANUAL MODE: Set heater power: 0-100%. In
MANUAL MODE, the warmer provides user-adjustable heater power and
the option to monitor the baby’s skin temperature using skin
sensor. If the patient skin temperature is more than 1oC above the
set point, then the heater is OFF and the output value displayed is
0 (zero).
Timers
- APGAR Alarm at 1, 5 and 10 minutes. Switches
off after 60 minutes. - PROCEDURE TIMERS Alarm at the end of preset
period from 1 to 99 minutes.

When available, the mute alarm period is 10 min.
X-ray procedure
- Turn the main switch of the device off and silence the power
failure alarm - Wait until the device cools down
- Lift the overhead unit up
- Move overhead unit left or right
- After X-ray procedure is completed return the overhead unit to
center position - Make sure the overhead unit is locked in center position
- Turn the device on
Note: The action will activate POWER FAILURE
alarm.
Turning off the warmer
- Press and hold the OFF symbol for 3 seconds

Product Usage Instructions
To use the Wallaby Warmer, select the desired mode of operation
by touching the MODE Selection panel. There are three modes
available:
- BABY MODE: This mode is used to provide stable
control of the baby’s skin temperature. The temperature can be set
between 34oC – 37.5oC. The heater power is automatically adjusted
to compensate for varying physiological and environmental
conditions. - PREWARM MODE: This mode is used to provide
general alarm-free prewarming of the heater and environment above
the warmer mattress. The temperature cannot be set in this
mode. - MANUAL MODE: This mode is used to provide
user-adjustable heater power and the option to monitor the baby’s
skin temperature using skin sensor. The heater power can be set
between 0-100%. If the patient skin temperature is more than 1oC
above the set point, then the heater is OFF and the output value
displayed is 0 (zero).
The Wallaby Warmer also includes timers to help keep track of
time. The APGAR Alarm goes off at 1, 5, and 10 minutes. The
PROCEDURE TIMERS Alarm goes off at the end of a preset period from
1 to 99 minutes.
If an alarm goes off, refer to the table in the user manual to
determine the cause and effect of the alarm. The mute button can be
used to silence audible alarms only. If there is a software or
hardware failure, refer to the Service Manual for more information
on error codes.
During an X-ray procedure, follow the steps outlined in the user
manual to ensure the safety of the baby and the device. When
turning off the Wallaby Warmer, press and hold the OFF symbol for 3
seconds.
