B01-004 Rodent Trap with BLE and LoRa
Product Information
The B01-004 is a device designed to monitor and transmit data
using LoRaWAN technology. The device is installed in a plastic
housing that is sonically welded for complete protection from
various installation environments and rodents. It requires a
ER14505H battery to be connected before installation. Once powered,
the device will advertise for 30 seconds before going to sleep.
Tapping the sensor pad a few times will wake the device up, and it
will again advertise for 30 seconds before going back to sleep. For
registered devices installed in the field, the device will
continually advertise every 1.5 seconds, and a LoRaWAN heartbeat
will transmit periodically based on how the device is
configured.
Product Usage Instructions
To use the B01-004 device, follow the instructions below:
- Connect a ER14505H battery to the device before installation
into plastic housing. - Install the device in the desired location.
- If the device is unregistered, tap the sensor pad a few times
to wake it up. The device will advertise for 30 seconds before
going back to sleep. - If the device is registered and installed in the field, it will
continually advertise every 1.5 seconds, and a LoRaWAN heartbeat
will transmit periodically based on how the device is
configured. - Regulatory information for Canada and the USA can be accessed
from the main screen (Dashboard) by performing the following steps:
(1) Access the Site Menu (upper left corner of the App screen) (2)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The B01-004 is a bait station data capture device used to detect rodents and insects that have entered the bait station and timestamp when the event occurred. The device uses a capacitive touch pad connected to capacitive touch sensor IC configured with customized filtering to provide information to the controller, which in turn uses a proprietary filtering algorithm to isolate events and detections. This information is passed to a mobile phone app, via Bluetooth, which will upload the information to a cloud server. The device is also equipped with LoRaWAN capabilities to provide direct device-to-cloud connection through a configurable heartbeat interval.
PRODUCT INSTALLATION
The B01-004 is installed in a plastic housing and sonically welded to provide complete protection from the various installation environments and rodents. A ER14505H battery must be connected to the B10-004 before installation into plastic housing
PRODUCT OPERATION
Once powered, the device will advertise for 30 seconds before going to sleep. Tapping the sensor pad a few times will wake the device up and it will again advertise for 30 seconds before going back to sleep. This operation will happen for device that are unregistered (Factory Mode).
For devices that are registered and installed in the field, the device will continually advertise every 1.5 seconds. A LoRaWAN heartbeat will also transmit periodically according to how the device is configured.
