WHAT DOES GEOSAFARI ® JR. KIDS COPE™ DO?
The GeoSafari Jr®. Kidscope™ is designed for young scientists who are ready to begin the investigation of our natural world with the introduction of microscope slides. With Kidscape, you will explore many new and familiar things, but with a more magnified view.
Did you know that Kidscape has the root word scope, which means to watch or see? Kid means that this science tool was uniquely made for kids, just like you! Kidscape works like a microscope, so you can see objects up close.
Note to Adults:
The comfy double eyepiece and low magnification were designed with kids in mind. A low magnification provides a wide Field of view, increasing the area of what a child will see under the Kidscape. This also makes it easier to identify
what specimen they are looking at, sparking real-world connections.
LET’S GET STARTED
- Ask an adult to install 3 fresh AAA batteries (see page 3 for installation instructions).
- Select a slide and place it on the rotating stage.
- Turn the light button on.
- Turn the dial to view each slide image.
- Use the focus knob to move closer or farther away.
- Use the included Book of Super Science Slides Facts to deepen your investigation for each slide image.
- Place slides in storage drawer for safekeeping.
Align the slide tab with the stage inset. Use this tab to remove slides from the stage.
BATTERY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS & WARNINGS
- Kidscape requires three AAA batteries, not included.
- Batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
- Only use batteries of the same or equivalent type.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the unit.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Only charge rechargeable batteries under adult supervision.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
To prevent corrosion and possible damage to the product, it is recommended to remove the batteries from the unit if they will not be used for more than two weeks.
