SunBell 80 Instruction manual
The BRIGHT SunBell 80 is a versatile solar-powered lamp that can
be used as a portable lantern, hanging light, reading light, or
flexible torch. It can also charge your phones and other
low-voltage devices. Follow these instructions for optimal use:
1. Box content
The package includes:
- Light & battery unit
- Lamp shade
- Solar panel & cable unit
- 2-way charging cable
The light & battery unit includes:
- Battery indicator
- Power button
- USB charging port
- Micro-USB (Power out)
- Barrel jack (Power in)
The solar panel & cable unit includes:
- Solar charging port
- USB connector
Note that the Micro-USB cable can be replaced by other types of
USB cables (USB-C, lining, etc.) that work for your phones and
devices.
2. Assembling your SunBell
To assemble the light & battery unit with the lampshade:
- Insert the battery unit into the shade.
- Insert the light unit into the shade.
To remove the light & battery unit from the lamp shade,
follow the above steps in reverse order.
3. Light modes
The SunBell has three different light modes which are activated
by pressing the power button:
- 1st press: 180 h+ 5 lm (full battery run time), 130 h+ 5 lm
(solar run time) - 2nd press: 35 h+ 20 lm (full battery run time), 28 h+ 20 lm
(solar run time) - 3rd press: 5 h+ 150 lm (full battery run time), 3 h+ 150 lm
(solar run time)
Note that the maximum working hours may vary between units and
places of use. The numbers above are estimates based on optimal
working conditions.
4. Product usage
The SunBell can be used in multiple ways:
- Emergency light: Press the power button quickly twice to
activate the emergency strobe light. - Reading/task light
- Flexible torch
- Hanging light
- Lantern
- Emergency strobe light
- Hands-free light
- Loudspeaker (**): Connect your phone or devices to SunBell 80
with a USB cable and start charging. A phone/device will not charge
if the battery is low.
The SunBell has a power output of 5V at 0.5A, which can charge a
variety of phones and small devices. Note that some phone
models/small tablets may not accept the charging current from
SunBell 80.
5. Charging your SunBell
The SunBell can be charged in two ways:
- Solar charging: Charging time varies depending on sun
conditions. It takes approximately 10-15 hours to fully charge the
battery. - USB charging: Use the 2-way charging cable to connect the
SunBell to a power source with a USB port. It takes approximately 2
hours to fully charge the battery.
6. Battery indication
The battery indicator provides information on the status of the
battery:
- Charging: Steady green (fast charge) or blinking green (slow
charge) - In use: Steady red (low battery) or blinking red (very low
battery)
When the battery is almost empty, the main light will blink
three times and automatically dim down to the low setting for a
final 30 minutes of light. A 30-second safety light is available
when the button is pressed again.
7. Maintaining your SunBell
To maintain your SunBell, regularly wipe the solar panel to
clean it from dust and dirt using a soft cloth. Do not use
chemicals. Make sure sockets are covered when not using the solar
panel as no cable is connected. Avoid dirt and the base of the lamp
as this might break the solar panel surface. Keep the light and
battery unit in a dry place with no direct sunlight and do not keep
it in water or with direct sunlight.

After 5 seconds without pressing the power button, the next press will always turn OFF the light.

7. Maintaining your SunBell

9. Warranty
Limited Product Warranty for SunBell 80
BRIGHT PRODUCTS AS warrants that the product has been carefully tested, inspected and left the Factory in a proper working condition, free of visible defects. BRIGHT PRODUCTS AS warrants the product to be free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and operation, for a period of two (2) years after the date of sale/handover to consumer. “The product” in this warranty is defined as the “SunBell 80” solar lamp, consisting of the following main parts delivered in the unit packaging: 1) The SunBell stand/lampshade 2) The SunBell 80 LED lamp & battery unit 3) The SunBell Solar panel with cable
The warranty is limited to the free replacement of the defective main part(-s) or replacement of the entire product during the two years of warranty. Defective parts/products replaced under this warranty shall become the property of BRIGHT PRODUCTS.
The above stated Warranty is subject to the following conditions: Products are sold by authorized BRIGHT PRODUCTS AS representatives. The products are operated and maintained in accordance with BRIGHT PRODUCTS operating instructions, maintenance instructions and specifications. Utilization of only BRIGHT PRODUCTS AS authorized parts and accessories.
This product has been tested and certified to IEC TS 62257-9-5 and IEC TS 62257-9-8.
The warranty shall not apply to damages resulting from normal wear and tear of product use, nor shall it apply to any product, which has been subject to damages, alterations or misuse by the purchaser. Parts of the product, which would be generally considered as expendable service items during normal use, such as cardboard box/packaging items, instruction manual etc., are not covered by the warranty. The warranty does not cover replacement of the entire product or the USB mobile phone charger if the mobile phone used has specifications that does not comply with the charging current or specifications for the SunBell 80 and the USB charger.
How to make a warranty claim: Warranty claims must be made directly to the point of purchase with a valid proof of purchase. If the warranty claim is found to be valid upon point of inspection, a replacement product or part will be handed out or ordered for hand out at a later date. If there is doubt about the validity of the warranty claim, the product may be kept by the seller to consult with importer or BRIGHT Products AS. BRIGHT Products AS and our representatives are not liable for products that are damaged or lost in transit. If needed, we recommend that you ship your returned products to point of purchase via a trackable shipment method.
