Smoke Box

Dear Customer
Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Safety instructions

The smoke box must only be used with grills from the SEVO range. The safety instructions for the grill used therefore also apply.
The smoke box must only be used outdoors.
The grill must always be cool when the smoke box is placed on it.
Caution! Always make sure that the grill has cooled down completely before removing the smoke box.
Never dispose of hot smoking chips
Do not use metal scourers or abrasive cleaning products to clean the plancha grill plate.]

Before using for the first time

Take the smoke box out of its packaging and completely remove any packing materials.
Clean the smoke box as specified in the “Cleaning and Care” section.
Position the smoke box as described in the ‘Operation’ section.

Operation

Preheat the grill and grill rack to 320°C.
Fill the smoke box with 150 g of smoking chips. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the smoking chips and soak the chips beforehand if necessary.
Place the smoke box on the left or right side of the grill. The box must be placed over a heating element.
Close the lid of the smoking box and the SEVO.
After about 8 minutes, check whether you can see good smoke development.
Close the lid and set the grill to the required temperature. For temperature settings, follow the instructions provided in your recipe.
Wait for some time, until the grill is no longer too hot, and then place the food to be smoked around the smoke box and close the lid of the SEVO again.
The smoking time depends on the food to be smoked and the smoking chips used. Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the instructions in your recipe.
With a longer smoking process, check on smoke development from time to time and refill with new smoking chips if necessary, as soon as there is any substantial reduction in smoke development.
Caution! Be sure to wear heat-resistant grill gloves when refilling with smoking chips during the smoking process!

Cleaning and Care

Caution! Always make sure that the grill has cooled down completely before removing the smoke box.
After every use, wait for the smoke box to cool down and then clean it.
Do not use metal scourers or abrasive cleaning products to clean the plancha grill plate.
Remove the smoke box and clean it in water, leave to soak if necessary. Any discoloration of the smoke box is inevitable and does not constitute a defect.
After cleaning, dry thoroughly and store in a dry room.
The SEVO smoke box can also be cleaned in a dishwasher.

Disposal
Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter.

Guarantee
This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorized service centers. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired, or interfered with by any unauthorized person, or damaged through misuse. This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs, etc. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights, nor any legal rights you may have as a consumer under applicable national legislation governing the purchase of goods. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
