READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ALL THE WAY TO THE END BEFORE STARTING YOUR PROJECT.
- Install the PlayTray by taping it to a flat surface as shown. Ask an adult for permission before taping the surface.
- (Optional) Place your phone in the media slot and follow the instructions on the Make It Real app.
- EN Create a bead pattern in the PlayTray bead holder.
- Organize the beads.
- Attach the string to the tab for easy braiding.
HEISHI BEAD BRACELETS
You will need
- Cut 35 cm (13 ¾ in) of elastic cord.
- Line up the beads on the PlayTray following the sequence shown and thread the beads on to the cord.
- Attach one end of the elastic cord to the PlayTray with a piece of tape.
Tip: Mix up the beads to create your own pattern!
- Remove the bracelet from the PlayTray.
Tip: hold both ends securely so the beads do not fall off. - a. Make a double knot using the ends of the cord.
- b. Secure the knot with a drop of craft glue or clear nail polish, wait 5 minutes for it to dry and cut off the excess cord.
- Repeat steps 1 to 5 to make the other Heishi Bead Bracelets.
- Attach the charms to decorate the bracelets.
BRAIDED BRACELET
You will need
- Cut 50 cm (19 ¾ in) of elastic cord.
- Fold it in half.
- Pass the fold through the metallic ring to make a loop.
- Pass the ends of the cord back through the loop and tighten it against the ring.
Tip: Use the threader to thread the beads if needed.
- Thread the beads on to the cords following the sequence shown.
- Make 2 simple knots after the last heishi bead and set aside.
- Take all the threads together and fold them in half.
- Pass the fold through the metallic ring to make a loop.
- Separate the threads in three equal parts.
- Braid until you reach 13 cm (5 1/4 in).
- Take one of the hot pink threads and make a simple knot at the end of the braid.
- Wrap the hot pink thread 10 times around all the embroidery threads and the elastic cord.
- Make 2 simple knots.
- Secure the knot with a drop of craft glue or clear nail polish.
- Secure the elastic cord in place by making 2 simple knots.
- Apply a drop of craft glue or clear nail polish on the knot and cut the excess elastic cords.
- Split the embroidery cords in two equal parts.
- Make 2 braids of 10 cm (4 in).
- Finish them both with a simple knot.
- Secure the knot with a drop of craft glue or clear nail polish, wait 5 minutes for it to dry and cut off the excess cord.
- Close the bracelet by tying a double knot around the ring using the two braids.
TWISTED BRACELET
- You will need
- 1 piece of 1 m (1.1 yrd) of each color of embroidery thread.
- Take all the threads together and fold them in half.
- Pass the fold through the metallic ring to make a loop.
- Pass the ends of the threads back through the loop and tighten them against the ring.
- Separate the threads in two equal parts.
- Twist each group of threads tightly for their whole length.
- Twist both groups together until the main twist measures 15 cm (6 in).
- Take one of the hot pink threads and make a simple knot at the end of the main twist.
Tip: Make sure you don’t let go of the ends so the threads don’t unwind.
- Wrap the hot pink thread 10 times around all the threads and through the jump ring attached to the lobster clasp.
- Make 2 simple knots and secure the knot with a drop of craft glue or clear nail polish, wait 5 minutes for it to dry and cut off the excess cord.
- Cut the excess threads 2 cm (¾ in) after 2 simple knots.
- Close the bracelet with the lobster clasp.
