PROPER DISPOSAL OF YOUR APPLIANCE

Getting Started

Before First Use

  • Read all safety instructions before the first use.
  • Be sure to clean your stand mixer as listed in the Care and Cleaning section of this manual.

Auto Stop

  • The stand mixer will automatically turn off after 10 minutes of continuous  operation. This prevents potential safety problems and prolongs the life cycle of the appliance.
  • This mixer will automatically shut off if you unlock the tilt head and lift while in operation. If this happens the dial must be reset to “0” before the mixer will turn on again.

Mixing Bowl Notes

  • Turn the control knob to the 0 position (Off position) before starting.
  • This stand mixer has a capacity of approximately 4 ¼ US cups flour or 2 ½ lbs. of dough.
  • Follow the recommended quantities, processing time, and speed as indicated in this owner’s manual. DO NOT exceed suggested processing speed, doing so could harm the appliance.

Batter
When making cake batter with the beater attachment, be careful to not over beat the batter. This can add extra air into the batter and cause the cake to mound in the center and crack while baking.

Whisking

  • Always make sure your bowl and accessories are clean and dry when you are whisking egg whites or whipping cream.
  • The weather can affect your egg whites. Humidity can make it difficult to create the stiff white peaks due to moisture in the air.
  • A great way to create whipping cream is to chill the whisk and bowl in your refrigerator for 20-30 minutes before whisking.

Dough

  • It is sometimes helpful to start blending your dough with the beater accessory until a loose dough is formed. Then switching the beater for the dough hook. This is not a required step but can be helpful with wet doughs.
  • Make sure to stay at the recommended dough speed to prevent over kneading.
  • Frequent scraping of the bowl will prevent the dough from sticking to the bottom of the bowl or climbing the dough hook, especially when you have a very wet dough.

Tips

  • To avoid splatter, always increase speed gradually.
  • Whisk: before whisking egg whites or cream, make sure that the bowl and the whisk are dry and free from grease.
  • Kneading: use the dough hook to knead yeast dough for bread and pizzas.
  • Adjust the amount of liquid to form the dough according to the humidity and temperature condition.
  • If you want to re-knead the dough with your stand mixer, press the dough down to the bottom of the bowl to avoid the dough wrapping on the tool. Make sure that you re-knead the dough within the recommended speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do GE stand mixers come with a warranty? How long is the warranty if it is?

A restricted one-year warranty from the date of purchase is included with this stand mixer. We appreciate the check.

Do you intend to sell this again? The GE website has this for 100 less.

As the reseller sets the price, we advise you to check it frequently.

What brand-name meat grinder attachments will fit this device’s sausage maker?

We are unable to recommend a particular brand of grinder. The majority of grinders made for stand mixers are compatible with our stand mixer.

Can I purchase more attachments?

The flat beater, dough hood, wire whisk, and pouring shield are included with this item. It is possible to buy each of these. A meat grinder is one of the many third-party attachments that are compatible with this device.

How long do you think a properly maintained GE stand mixer will last?

I bet a long time. Ours is heavily used, and we wash it as directed (attachments are hand wash only while mixing bowl is dishwasher safe). No wear is visible.

Does this operate on 220 volts?

His device will be powered by a typical 120V, 60Hz electrical supply. Sadly, it does not operate on 220 volts; we apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The nozzle can I wash in the dishwasher?

If you mean the whisk, dough knife, or batter mixer attachments, then no, those are hand wash only. However, you can put the bowl and splash guard in the dishwasher.

Does this machine have a pasta attachment that fits it?

While we do not provide a pasta attachment, this model is compatible with a number of third-party companies’ attachments.

Is the GE knob blocking the pour shield opening?

The GE knob is not obstructing the pour shield opening, though. We are appreciative of your inquiry.

How long do you believe a properly maintained GE stand mixer will last?

The lifespan of any appliance cannot be predicted. The frequency, type, and location of use, as well as the care and maintenance given to the appliance, could all have an impact on how long it lasts. Examples of these factors include high humidity levels and proximity to the ocean. We are sure that this device will last you a very long time.

Does this accept attachments for kitchen aids?

While we are unable to name specific brand names, we can confirm that our mixer has an accessory port that works with a wide range of third-party attachments.
