Nuvo NV6OD5DVCBK Series Six 5.25 Inch Dual Voice Coil Outdoor Speaker
This instruction sheet covers the installation of the Nuvo Outdoor Speaker models identified by the part numbers at the top of the page. Available in both 5 1/4 in. and 6 1/2 in. sizes, these sleek speaker enclosures offer a modern design in a minimal size that tastefully blends with the lines of any home. Optimized for the demands of outdoor installations, Nuvo Outdoor Speakers are IP65-rated for outdoor use and meet MIL-STD-810 for UV, salt spray, and temperature extremes. INSTALLATION
Perform steps 1-5 at each speaker location
STEP 1: Run two conductor-stranded speaker wires from the amplification device to the speaker location. If using a dual-voice coil speaker, run four conductor-stranded speaker wires to the speaker location.
Note: Use of 16-gauge speaker wire is recommended.
STEP 2: Pull the speaker wires through the center hole of the speaker bracket [included). Attach the speaker bracket to the mounting surface using the appropriate hardware [not included) for the surface. Mount the speaker bracket vertically, horizontally, or angled in a corner, as desired. [Fig. 2)
STEP 3: Feed the conductors of the cable through the weatherproof phoenix connector cover. Strip 3/8 .. of the speaker wire jacket, and terminate the positive(+) and negative H conductors into the removable phoenix connector located at the rear of the speaker. (Fig. 3)
- Pair of speakers: For each of the speakers, use any set of adjacent positive [+) and negative [-) terminals for your terminations. To expand beyond a single pair of speakers, utilize the adjacent positive [+) and negative[-) terminals of the phoenix connector to daisy chain an additional speaker.
Caution: Expanding beyond a single pair of speakers WILL affect impedance ratings. Be sure you understand the impedance ratings of your amplifier and the implications of daisy-chaining two pairs of speakers to a single amplified zone. - Dual-Voice Coil Stereo Speakers: To generate stereo sound, use all four terminals [Left+/- & Right+/-) for your terminations.
STEP 4: Insert the phoenix connector into the back of the speaker until seated. Remove the adhesive tape covering the weatherproof phoenix connector cover and press the cover over the phoenix connector to secure. Slide the speaker onto the speaker bracket and tighten the retaining knobs to secure the speaker in place. (Fig. 4]
STEP 5: Slide the included covers over the speaker bracket connection to protect the speaker and to create a sleek, finished look. (Fig. 5]
