Safety instructions for Gas fan heater
Caution – certain parts of the product may get hot enough to cause burns.
Particular caution is called for if children and persons requiring protection are present.
The device must be disconnected from the gas cylinder after every use using the gas cylinder shut-off valve!
Make sure that the fan is operating properly before igniting the burner.
Only use the device in a well-ventilated environment and away from combustible materials.
The device must not be operated in environments or rooms below ground level.
Never operate/touch the device with wet hands.
Do not put foreign objects in the device.
Prevent any torsion stresses on the connection hose.
Do not use or store explosive or flammable materials (e.g. fuel, paper, paints) in the vicinity of the product.
People are prohibited from being in the installation area at any time.
The safety distance on the air intake side must be 2.5 metres, on the air outlet side 3.5 metres, to the side 2 metres and upwards 2 metres.
Do not move the device when it is in use.
Never place the gas cylinder in front of the gas fan heater when it is in use! This is a fire hazard!
It must always be ensured that air can be taken in and vented freely.
The devices may not be used in atmospheres that contain oil, sulphur or salt.
Do not set up in rooms at risk of fire (e.g. wood sheds).
Protect the electrical parts from moisture. To prevent electrical shock, never submerse these parts in water or other fluids during cleaning or when in operation.
Never hold the apparatus under flowing water.
Switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply before replacing accessory parts, cleaning work and if it is not in use.
If the device has not been used for a longer period of time, the entire device must be checked for correct functionality, including a leak test. A leak test can be carried out with a leak detection spray or soapy water, for example.
Do not use this heater with a program switch, a time switch, a separate remote control system or any other device that automatically switches the heater on, as there is a risk of fire if the heater is covered or set up incorrectly.

Operation
After you have read and understood the safety instructions. you may commission the device.
- Connect the pressure regulator to the gas cylinder valve.
- Connect the gas hose to the pressure regulator.
- Connect the gas hose to the heater.
- Open the gas cylinder valve.
- Check screw caps with leak detection spray or soapy water for possible gas leakage. Tighten again if necessary.
- Insert the battery.
- Press the On/off switch.
- From the intake side, check whether the fan is rotating.
- If the fan is turning, keep the gas valve button pressed and at the same time press the ignition button repeatedly until the burner ignites.
- Keep the gas valve button pressed for approx. 10 seconds.
- Check that the gas heater is running continuously.
- Use the control dial to adjust the heat output to the desired level.
Power off:
- To switch off the gas heater, always close the gas cylinder valve first.
- Run the fan for I .2 minutes to blow out any non• combusted gas and to cool down the unit.
- Switch the device off with the On/Off switch.
- Remove battery.
- Disconnect the device from the gas cylinder by unscrewing the pressure regulator from the gas cylinder valve.
An unpleasant smell may be produced when the device is used for the first time in some cases. This is however completely harmless and will disappear completely over time
Handling of gas bottles.
Make sure the gas bottles are used and stored in rooms with sufficient air inlet and outlet. A leaking gas bottle may reduce the share of oxygen in the inhaled air and therefore represent a risk of suffocation.
Before using the device, always check that the pressure controller seal is correctly fitted and working properly.
Before use, make sure the gas bottle contains gas designed for the work being done.
Gas bottles must always be safely fixed in a vertical position on a wall support or on a specially manufactured gas bottle cart.
The liquid gas cylinder must be changed in a wellventilated room or outdoors, and away from open flames (cigarettes, candles or other devices with open flames).
The bottle with shielding gas and the fixed adjustment gas current equipment must not be moved. The gas bottle valve must be closed during transport. Close the gas bottle valve after use.
Smell of gas or suspect leakage
If you smell gas or suspect a leak, do not use the device. If the device is in use, the gas supply must be shut off immediately. Immediately open windows and doors. Do not press any electrical switches (e.g. light switches), do not use a telephone or similar and do not use any naked flames or sources of ignition!
The device must be checked and any faults remedied before it can be used again.
Emergency procedure
- Stop the gas supply to the device.
- Move out of the danger zone immediately and make sure that no other persons are in the danger zone.
- Call the fire brigade.
Maintenance
Take the replaceable battery from the appliance before any extension, cleaning and servicing works.
Check the gas hose lines at least once a month as well as every time the gas cylinder is replaced. If there are any signs of damage, the hose lines must be replaced.
The entire device must be checked for correct func- tionality, including a leak test, once a month. A leak test can be carried out with a leak detection spray or soapy water, for example. Check the position of the ignition electrodes after every 50 hours of use. There should be a gap of 5-7 mm.
After every 50 hours of use, check the position of the ignition electrodes and check the connection between the temperature controller and the temperature sensor for contamination. If dirty, clean with a cloth. Always switch off the device if you cannot leave it in a safe state. Clean the fan blades and the inside of the heater with compressed air every season or as needed. Repairs and works specified in these instructions may only be performed by qualified authorised staff. Use only original accessories and original spare parts. Always keep the device clean, as well as the ventilation slots in particular.
Never spray water on the device body! Do not clean the plastics with solvents, flammable or toxic fluids. For cleaning, use a damp cloth only. Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries.
Storage
Always remove the battery and gas cylinder when the device is not in use or in storage! Refer to the relevant chapters for instructions.
Store the device and its accessories in a dark, dry and frost free place, which cannot be accessed by children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5 and 30°.
Never store the liquid gas cylinder in environments or rooms below ground level!
Never store liquid gas cylinders in unventilated places!
The gas cylinders must be fitted with valve protection caps and lock nuts when stored.
Gas cylinders must always be stored upright! This also applies to empty gas cylinders!
Warranty
Warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and com- mences on the day of purchase of the device.
The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused by material defect or manufacturing defect. Original payment voucher with the sales date needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period.
The guarantee does not cover any unauthorised use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorised interference or caused by foreign items. Failing to follow the ope-rating and assembly instructions and common wear are also not included in the guarantee.

Failure removal
Transport packaging disposal
The packaging protects the machine against damage during transport. Packaging materials are usually chosen based on environment aspects and waste treatment principles and are therefore recyclable. Returning the packaging into material circulation saves raw materials and reduces waste production. Parts of packagings (e.g. foils, styropor®) can be dangerous for children. Do not dispose of electrical appliances in household waste; use the local collection points. Ask your local authority where the collection points are to be found. If electrical equipment is disposed of in an uncontrolled manner, weathering can lead to dangerous substances entering the groundwater and from there the food chain, or the flora and fauna can be poisoned for years. If you replace the device with a new one, the seller is legally obliged at the least to take back the old one to be disposed of free of charge.
Risk of suffocation!
Keep parts of the packagings out of reach of children and dispose them as soon as possible.
