- Connect an RCA cable and ground cable to your turntable.
- Connect the RCA and ground cables to the Phono RCA Input and Ground Terminal on the PA10.
Note: It is recommended for best performance to use a high quality RCA cable with a <90pF capacitance rating. The Fluance 90pF RCA cable (CA03) is available at www.fluance.com/turntable

Amplifier/Powered Speaker Connection
- Connect an RCA cable and ground cable to the RCA Output and Ground Terminal on the PA10.
- Connect the RCA and ground cables to an RCA input and ground terminal on your amplifier or powered speakers.
Note: If there is no ground terminal on your powered speakers/ampli-fier loosening a screw on the chassis, inserting the ground cable, and tightening the screw can achieve the same result.
IMPORTANT: Do not connect the RCA line output of the PA10 to any input labeled PHONO on your amplifier or powered speakers. A PHONO input may use an internal preamplifier, which can over-amplify the audio signal potentially damaging your speakers.
Power Connection
IMPORTANT: Ensure your receiver or speakers are turned off when connecting the PA10 to power.
- Connect the power adapter to the back of the PA10.
- Plug the other end directly into a wall outlet. The Power LED will indicate it is receiving power.
- Put on a record and enjoy your favorite music!
20 Hz High Pass Filter
The high pass filter, also known as a rumble filter, gently rolls off low-end frequencies and eliminates subsonic frequencies. This feature should be inactive for best audio performance. Activating this filter is useful when experiencing mechanical resonances or feedback during turntable playback.

Frequently Asked Questions
What cartridges are compatible with the PA10?
The PA10 is intended for use with MM (Moving Magnet) cartridges only.
Is the preamplifier shielded from external interference?
The PA10 phono preamplifier is internally shielded to protect the circuitry from external sources of electromagnetic interference.
What turntables are compatible with the PA10?
All Fluance turntables are compatible with the PA10. Almost all turntables are compatible with the PA10 but it is important to ensure any internal preamp is disabled/bypassed.
How do I adjust volume?
Playback volume is controlled by the amplifier or powered speakers connected to your PA10. The PA10 does not have the ability to adjust playback volume.
Are the ground cables required?
It is recommended to properly ground all devices connected in a turntable setup. Failure to properly ground the turntable and preamplifier may cause a low frequency humming sound.
What should I do if I’m experiencing humming?
Ensure that all devices connected in the turntable setup are properly grounded. It is recommended to also use high quality RCA cables with a <90pF rating. If the humming persists then try moving your speakers to a separate surface than your turntable. If your speakers and turn-table are too close the stylus can pickup unwanted vibrations causing humming and feedback.
How is this activated or deactivated?
No power switch is present. It uses a fraction of a watt. It can be left on, plugged into an Amazon Echo plug, a switched outlet on your amplifier, or a power strip.
Can an AT turntable be used with this?
Approximately three months ago, I bought the Fluance PA10. Great results! To get the optimum sound quality, you must buy a preamp if your turntable does not already come with one. This type fits all turntables with Moving Magnetic (MM) cartridges. The PA10 won’t function properly if your turntable uses a Moving Coil (MC) cartridge.
What does the preamp allow you to do?
The main purpose of a preamp is to increase a low-level signal to line level. It comes before your interface or outboard equipment and follows the microphone/instrument level signal.
How does a preamp affect sound?
Preamps’ contributions to sound come more from the texture they add to the sound than from their frequency response. Preamps do shape the sound, but far less so than one might imagine. Its distinctive sound usually only becomes audible at high amplitude levels or when driven into distortion.
How do I choose a preamp?
Choose your phono preamp based on the desired level of sound quality. You will need to take into account various phono stages depending on the genre of music you play and also the sound quality you desire. The components that the manufacturers choose to employ and the manufacturers’ technological bias will affect the sound quality.
Does preamp increase volume?
The procedure that turns a microphone’s recorded sounds into audible ones is known as preamp volume. Preamps often increase the amplitude of the signal by up to 60dB, which is measured in decibels (dB). The preamp itself, the instrument, and the microphone all influence how much volume should be supplied.
