Product Information

The HoMedics TheraP Hot & Cold Therapy Knee Wrap with the
Power of Magnets (model MW-KHC) is a high-quality product designed
to provide hot and cold therapy for knee pain relief. It is made
with Magnetic WaveTM Technology and is distributed by HoMedics,
Inc. The knee wrap is crafted with durable materials to ensure
long-lasting performance.

Product Usage Instructions

Cold Therapy:

1. Remove the gel insert from the knee wrap.
2. Place the gel insert in the freezer for a minimum of 2 hours to
   achieve the optimal temperature.
3. Once frozen, remove the gel insert from the freezer and insert
   it into the pocket of the knee wrap.

Heat Therapy (Stovetop):

1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat.
2. Place the gel insert in the hot water for 1 minute. Do not boil
   the insert directly.
3. Using tongs, carefully remove the insert from the hot water. Be
   cautious as it will be very hot.
4. To test the temperature, place the insert on the underside of
   your wrist. If it’s too hot, allow it to cool before using. If it’s
   not hot enough, continue heating in 1-minute intervals until
   desired temperature is reached.
5. Insert the heated gel insert into the pocket of the knee
   wrap.

Heat Therapy (Microwave):

1. Heat water in a microwaveable container on high setting for 3
   minutes (based on a 600-watt microwave). Use a minimum of 16 ounces
   of water. Heating times may vary.
2. After heating, let the water stand in the microwave for thirty
   seconds before moving it or inserting the gel pack.
3. Place the gel insert in the hot water for 1 minute.
4. Using tongs, carefully remove the insert from the hot water. Be
   cautious as it will be very hot.
5. To test the temperature, place the insert on the underside of
   your wrist. If it’s too hot, allow it to cool before using. If it’s
   not hot enough, continue heating in 1-minute intervals until
   desired temperature is reached.
6. Insert the heated gel insert into the pocket of the knee
   wrap.

Fitting Instructions:

1. Center the knee wrap over the kneecap, ensuring that the larger
   fastener is on the upper leg. The inside of the wrap should face
   the knee.
2. Secure the fastening tabs above and below the knee, readjusting
   until comfortable. Avoid securing the wrap too tightly to prevent
   blood circulation restriction.

Magnetic WaveTM Technology
WARNING

Some individuals may be sensitive to the neoprene or adhesives used in this product. If soreness or rash occurs discontinue use immediately and consult your physician. Do not wear while sleeping. If problem persists, consult your physician.
Caution

· Only use this product for its intended purposes as described in the manual.
· Do not use this product over an open wound.
· Do not use this product while using transdermal drug delivery skin patches.
· Individuals using pacemakers or insulin pumps should never use this product.
· Do not use during pregnancy.
· Children should not use or play with this product.
· Do not machine-wash magnets.
· Magnets should be kept at least six inches away from electronic devices, computers, TVs, video equipment and tapes.
· Keep out of direct contact with credit cards and other cards that have a magnetic strip. Should the magnet come in contact with your card, it may demagnetize and render your card invalid.

Hot & Cold Therapy
WARNING
Heated gel insert may cause serious burns if too hot. Do not use over sensitive skin or where there is poor circulation. The unattended use of heat by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.
Caution
· Do not use this product for more than 20 minutes at a time on the affected area.
· Consult a physician prior to use.
· If contents of gel insert come in contact with eyes, flush eyes with water. Contact a physician if irritation persists.
· Never apply gel insert directly to skin. If gel insert is uncomfortable during use, remove it immediately.
· Do not use gel insert with sport creams, balms, liniments or lotions.
· Children should not use or play with gel insert.
· Do not insert gel pack directly into microwave as this may cause damage to the seal.
· Use heat pack carefully, may cause severe burns.
· This product, while non-toxic, is not intended for ingestion. If contents are swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Consult a physician.
· Do not use hot/cold packs over skin areas with less than normal sensitivity.
· Do not use heated gel insert on parts of body where there is swelling, redness or immediately after an injury. Cold therapy is recommended for these conditions.
· Do not use gel insert over open wounds.

Washing
Remove gel insert before washing. Hand wash; line dry.
Instructions for Use
Cold Therapy
Place gel insert in freezer for a minimum of 2 hours to achieve optimal temperature and performance. Insert will remain flexible even when frozen. Remove from freezer and insert in pocket of knee wrap.
Heat Therapy Stovetop
1. Bring water to a boil and remove from heat.
2. Place gel insert in hot water for 1 minute. Do not boil insert directly.
3. Remove insert using tongs. Use caution as the insert will be very hot.
4. Test temperature of insert by placing it on the underside of your wrist. If insert is too hot, allow it to cool before using. If it is not hot enough, continue heating in 1 minute intervals until desired temperature is reached.
5. Place gel insert in pocket of knee wrap.
Microwave
1. Heat water in microwaveable container on high setting for 3 minutes. This is based on a 600 watt microwave. Use a minimum of 16 ounces of water. Heating times may vary. Follow all precautions and recommendations found in your microwave oven instruction manual with respect to the heating of water. Do not insert gel pack directly into microwave as this may cause damage to the seal. After heating, let water stand in microwave for thirty seconds before moving it or inserting the gel pack.

Terapia Caliente y Frío
ADVERTENCIA
El inserto de gel caliente puede causar quemaduras graves si está demasiado caliente. No lo use sobre piel sensible o donde la circulación de sangre es limitada. El uso del calor sin supervisión por parte de niños o personas con incapacidades puede resultar peligroso.
Atención:
· NO use este producto durante más de 20 minutos por vez en el área afectada.
· Consulte con su médico antes del uso. · Si el contenido del inserto de gel queda en contacto con los
ojos, enjuague los ojos con agua. Si la irritación persiste, contacte a un médico. · No aplique nunca el inserto de gel directamente sobre la piel. Retire el inserto de gel antes de lavar. Lave a mano, deje secar colgando.
Instrucciones de uso
Terapia Fría:
Coloque el inserto de gel en el congelador por un mínimo de 2 horas para lograr la temperatura y rendimiento mejores. El inserto permanecerá flexible aún cuando esté congelado. Retírelo del congelador y colóquelo en el bolsillo del cinturón para la rodilla.
Terapia Caliente Estufa
1. Haga hervir agua y quítela de la estufa.
2. Coloque el inserto de gel en agua caliente por 1 minuto. No ponga a hervir el inserto directamente en el agua.
3. Use pinzas para retirar el inserto. Ponga cuidado por lo que el inserto está muy caliente.
4. Compruebe la temperatura del inserto tocándolo con la parte inferior de su pulso. Si el inserto está demasiado caliente, déjelo enfriar antes de usarlo. Si no está suficientemente caliente, siga calentándolo a intervalos de 1 minuto hasta lograr la temperatura deseada.
5. Coloque el inserto de gel en el bolsillo del cinturón para la rodilla.

Microondas:
1. Caliente el agua en un recipiente apto para microondas, por 3 minutos a “temperatura alta”. Esto se basa en un microondas de 600 vatios. Use un mínimo de 16 onzas de agua. Tiempo para calentar puede variar. Siga todas las precauciones y recomendaciones que se encuentran en el manual de instrucciones de su horno a microondas con respecto al calentar el agua. No coloque el paquete de gel directamente en el microondas, pues esto puede dañar el sello. Después de calentar, deje el agua en el microondas por treinta segundos antes de moverla o de inserir el paquete de gel.
2. Coloque el inserto de gel en el agua caliente por 1 minuto.
3. Use pinzas para retirar el inserto. Ponga cuidado por lo que el inserto está muy caliente.
4. Compruebe la temperatura del inserto tocándolo con la parte inferior de su pulso. Si el inserto está demasiado caliente, déjeloenfriar antes de usarlo. Si no está suficientemente caliente, siga calentándolo a intervalos de 1 minuto hasta lograr la temperatura deseada.
5. Coloque el inserto de gel en el bolsillo del cinturón.
Instrucciones de Ajuste
1. Centre el cinturón sobre la rótula ­ la correa más grande debe quedar en la parte superior de la pierna. El lado interno del cinturón debe estar por el lado de la rodilla.
2. Ajuste las lengüetas de sujeción arriba y abajo de la rodilla, reajustándolas hasta que queden cómodas. No apriete demasiado el cinturón pues esto puede limitar la circulación de la sangre.
