is this hdcp 2.2 compatible?
just in case someone still wants to save money on a receiver and still get 4k: you can use this for 4k if you get an hdcp converter box
Can I set this to run just 2 speakers in a stereo mode?
Actually works better. All power getting diverted to 2ch is best for this entry level unit. You could actually HURT 4 decent speakers by under powering.
Does it allow for multiple balance modes for various seating? One setting for on the couch, another for off the side in computer chair?
You will need to adjust it every time. One good thing is the mic auto tuning mode will do it for you but still, you’ll need to tune it constantly
New to using non ancient audio, The HDMI, is that how I input audio? Would I just plug that in from my GPU in my computer or what?
Yeah but not all computer hdmi ports output audio. But most do. Look for shark007 codec to enable bitstream of dts-hd in windows media player
Does it have phono input?
This receiver does have RCA Analog INPUTs located at the back of the receiver. Please check the rear panel of this receiver
Will this receiver play video and decode audio from a flahdrive hooked up to a Roku 3 using the aux input?

This receiver can adjust its volume automatically depending on the input signal or content from a connected device.

Will 8 ohms Sony speakers work?
8 ohm speakers will work perfectly with this receiver. This is a fantastic sounding receiver. World Wide Stereo is 36 years old and a very proud Sony dealer.
Can you receive two different audios from two different devices at the same time?
No. It’s not possible with this unit. -Anthony

With 6 ohm loads, both channels driven, from 20 – 20,000 Hz; rated 90 watts per channel minimum RMS power
Can this device play audio via bluetooth?
No, it has a USB port for devices and works with my iPhone, but I don’t see anything for Bluetooth
does this unit have preamp out?
This receiver does not have a preamp out port.
