The Ayre Spatula GIMA is an extremely efficient device for ectocervical and endocervical cytological sampling (Pap Test).
The device must be used only by qualified trained personnel authorized to carry out the pap test. Do not expose to sources of heat. Use only if the packing is not damaged. Extract the device from the package immediately before use. Before use, visually examine the device to check its integrity. Carefully check whether the wood is chipped.
Intended purpose: The spatula is used to take samples of cells exfoliated from the ectocervix and from the endocervical channel.
Contraindications: Do not use extremity 1 in case of pregnancy.
Instructions for use: insert the speculum into the vagina to point out the cervix uteri; take the spatula from its packing holding it in the center of the stem; visually check for the device integrity. Slowly introduce extremity 1 into the cervical channel; carry out a complete rotation; slowly take it out; smear both spatula surfaces on the glass slide. In case the cervical channel is stenotic or shows a pregnancy condition, make use of extremity 2, by making it adhere to the ectocervical surface and proceed as above-mentioned.
The device IS NOT STERILE!
The device is SINGLE-USE. Do not clean for subsequent use!
The product must be disposed of according to the local provisions on dangerous medicines disposal.
