KM1200 Bass Drum Mic
Mount the bass drum mic onto a short microphone stand, then position the mic just inside the kick drum port. Screw the mounting clips onto each mic so that the mic points toward the clip end. Attach each mic onto the hoop of a tom or snare drum. The distance from the mic to the drumhead is adjustable, as well as the angle. Screw the mic clips onto a pair of tripod boom stands. Slide the cymbal mics into the mic clips and position them in one of these patterns:

  • Each mic positioned about 3 ft (1 m) above the ride cymbal and hi hat, pointing directly down.
  • Both mics positioned directly above the snare drum in an “XY” pattern, with the capsule ends nearly touching, one pointing at the ride cymbal and the other at the hi hat.

NOTE: These mics require 48 V phantom power to be engaged on the mixer or interface.
