FAQs

What are Memphis MXA60L coaxial marine speakers?

In order to handle the high frequencies and accurately reproduce the sound spectrum of your music, two-way, or coaxial, speakers have a separate tweeter housed inside the woofer. For added fullness and realism, three-way, or triaxial, speakers combine a midrange driver with a separate woofer and tweeter.

Do you need an amp for Memphis MXA60L marine speakers?

The majority of maritime stereos come equipped with an amplifier, some of which are very powerful. Without an external amplifier, good sound is definitely feasible. Almost always, you can add an amplifier later, so I advise most people to test their stereo without one first.

Are Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers full range?

Due to their ability to reproduce a wider range of audio frequencies from a single speaker, coaxial speakers are frequently referred to as “full-range” speakers. The drivers in these speakers are identical to those in component speakers, but they have been merged to save space and money.

Can you use regular speaker wire on a boat?

On your boat, type 2 wires can be used for any general wiring task, such as speaker wiring.

What are Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers good for?

In professional audio, coaxial loudspeakers allow sound from two drivers to come from a single source. In comparison to loudspeaker enclosures containing physically separated drivers, this feature enables a wider field of listening to a synchronised summation of speaker drivers.

Do Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers need break in?

There is no need to play a speaker at half power or low volumes for an extended period of time in order to aid or ease into this, even though it is true that the suspension of a speaker will loosen up over time.

What frequency are Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers?

High-Pass Filter for the rear coaxial speakers is 80 Hz (12 db or 24 db Slope) Low-Pass Filter for Subwoofers: 80 Hz (12 db or 24 db Slope)

What makes a good Memphis MXA60L Marine speaker?

Most marine speakers are incredibly long-lasting and sturdy. Make sure the speakers you are purchasing are high-quality, rust- and corrosion-resistant, and have a sturdy construction. For good weather protection, look for speakers with plastic cones, such as those with polypropylene and neoprene rubber surrounds.

Can Memphis MXA60L marine speakers get wet?

Products that are Marine Grade or Marine Rated can endure marine environments. Marine grade components can be exposed to the sun and wind as well as moisture (although not necessarily submersion). They can withstand high ambient temperatures and won’t burn if a little water is splashed on them.

What should I look for in a Memphis MXA60L marine speaker?

A speaker system that sounds good at a loud volume is ideal for marine applications. Take into account investing in marine speakers with high sensitivity, durability, and increased power handling.

How are Memphis MXA60L marine speakers different?

Marine speakers are those that are more suitable for use in the water. They are typically more durable in addition to being water-resistant. Marine speakers are designed to withstand the various exposures to moisture, climate, and weather.

What wire is best for Memphis MXA60L marine use?

Lights and other comparable equipment should have wire conductors that are at least 16-AWG (gauge), according to the ABYC. That is the absolute minimum, and heavier gauge doesn’t cost all that much more and is typically easier to install. To reduce voltage dips, we advise using 12- or 14-AWG wire, or even more if the manufacturer advises it.

Does Memphis MXA60L coaxial provide power?

You can, indeed. In fact, it is standard engineering practise to use coaxial cables to supply power to small-scale electronics, and all necessary clearances have been obtained (EA, UL, etc). If necessary, you can transmit both AC and DC signals over coax.

Do you need a crossover for Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers?

You probably don’t need a second crossover if your car audio system uses coaxial speakers. The frequencies that reach each driver are already filtered by passive crossovers that are already present in full-range speakers. The built-in speaker crossovers should be more than enough, even if you add an amplifier to the mix.

Do Memphis MXA60L coaxial speakers need amp?

Component speakers and coaxial speakers can be powered by your car radio without the need for an amplifier. However, an amp will enable you to get a much clearer sound without distortion, a louder volume, and power for a subwoofer, allowing you to get the most from your speakers.
