Bombardier Challenger 350 User Guide

Challenger 350

Challenger 350 Quick Reference Guide

The Challenger 350 is a high-performance business jet designed
for efficient and comfortable travel. Below are some quick
reference guidelines for optimal usage of the aircraft.

Acceleration and Climb

  • Set climb thrust 2%N1 less than T/O PWR at 400ft AFE.
  • Retract flaps when reaching around 170kts and before reaching
    210kts.
  • Clean (gear & flaps up) while accelerating aircraft at a
    stable rate.
  • Climb to 10,000ft at a speed of 250kts, then maintain a CLB Spd
    of 280kts/M0.80.

Cruise

  • Cruise at a speed of M0.80-M0.82.
  • The maximum altitude for an MTOW dep is FL430. Wait 1-2hrs
    before going to FL450.
  • For maximum efficiency, consider step climbing as appropriate,
taking into account aircraft weight, winds, and direction of
    travel.

Descent and Arrival

  • Use VNAV as appropriate and descend via Mach #. Transition to
    310kts.
  • At or below 10,000ft, maintain a speed of 250kts at a rate of
1500fpm. Turn on landing lights at 18,000ft.
  • For arrival configuration, use the suggested extension speeds:
    Flaps 10 – 210kts (205kts), Flaps 20 – 210kts (190kts), Flaps 30 –
    175kts (170kts).
  • For glideslope capture, use Flaps 10 within 15-20nm of the
airport or if slowed by ATC. Use Flaps 20 one dot below GS capture
or within 10nm of the airport.
  • Intercept the approach with gear down and start gradual
deceleration towards Vref. Use Flaps 30 prior to the final approach
fix or 5nm final slow to Vref+10.
  • Start APU upon receiving Landing Clearance.

Reversers and Taxi

  • Upon touchdown, apply MAX reverse thrust and slowly reduce to
    idle at 60kts.
  • Taxi to parking on both engines and exit high-speed taxiways at
    a safe speed.

Challenger 350 Quick Reference Guide

Taxi (Dep.) – Breakaway, use minimal thrust. No more than 30% N1 on ground – Little thrust required to keep movement going – Will accelerate slightly at idle thrust – 90° turns, no more than 10kts GS // 15-25kts normal straightaways – Taxi to runway on both engines
Takeoff – Flaps 10 for all departures – Flaps 20 for runways 4000ft – Advance PWR to T/O Power – If at MTOW, Rotate around 137kts (lighter TOW = lesser speed req’d) – Positive Rate – Gear up – Initial pitch 12.5 – 15° nose up at a rate of 3-5°/sec. – No more than 30° bank (above 400ft AGL) – Gusty/Crosswinds: Apply appropriate aileron correction into wind
Acceleration Alt. (400ft AFE) – Set Climb Thrust 2%N1 less than T/O PWR – Flap Retraction – Flaps 0 at or around 170kts. Before reaching 210kts – Clean (gear & flaps up) while accelerating aircraft at a stable rate
Climb – 250kts to 10,000ft – CLB Spd: 280kts/M0.80
Cruise – M0.80-M0.82 – Max ALT for a MTOW dep is FL430. Wait 1-2hrs before going to FL450.
Fuel Planning – For maximum efficiency, step climb as appropriate. Consider taking into account aircraft weight, winds and direction of travel

Descent – VNAV as appropriate. Descend via Mach #. Transition to 310kts.
Arrival Planning – 250kts below 10,000ft @ rates 1500fpm – Landing lights on at 18,000ft
Arrival (Configure) Suggested Extension Speeds – Flaps 10 – 210kts (205kts) – Flaps 20 – 210kts (190kts) – Flaps 30 – 175kts (170kts)
Glideslope Capture – Flaps 10, within 15-20nm of airport or if slowed by ATC. – Flaps 20, one dot below GS capture / within 10nm of airport
—-Intercept—- – Gear down, & start gradual deceleration towards Vref – Flaps 30 prior to the final approach fix or 5nm final slow to Vref+10
– Start APU upon receiving Landing Clearance
– Stable prior to 1000ft AGL (1-2° pitch nose up on final > threshold)
Landing – GPWS callouts – Be at Vref over the runway threshold – 20 50ft, start to reduce power to idle – Increase pitch to about 2.5° and hold aircraft off runway.
Reversers & Taxi (Arrival) – Touch down and apply MAX reverse thrust. – @60kts, slowly reduce to Idle. – Taxi to parking on both engines – Exit high-speed taxiways at <30kts or 8-12kts any other taxiway

DO NOT exceed 92% N1 in cruise

– Shutdown engines, lights, turn pax signs off, and open doors.
