FAQS

Can the cord be hidden under the kettle?

the cord can coil around only once under the base. So it is not entirely hidden. Cord is heavy also.

Can the plastic spout be removed?

The plastic spout cannot be removed

Is this item cool to touch?

Yes; that’s reflected in the Cool Touch moniker. The outside is an attractive plastic that looks like matte steel, with a white plastic handle. The inside is one-piece stainless steel and does get hot!

Does it have any plastic part that directly touches water?

As somebody else said the metal lime scale filter is attached to the lid using plastic pieces.
However the lime scale filter and the plastic peaches that attach it to the lid cannot be removed. I called Zwilling Customer Service to confirm this.
So hot steam in this kettle will come into contact with a very small amount of plastic no matter what you do.

Where is this made?

Their knives are made in Germany, but they outsource the kettles to the peoples republic of china to save a few bucks.

Is there a window for seeing water level?

No, you have to flip the lid to look inside where it’s marked.

Does it auto shut off?

Yes

Does the stainless steel contain nickel?

You would have to ask the company. Not all stainless steel contains nickel

what is the highest temperature that the water would go to?

The filter has plastic rim and it appears you can break it off .( I didn’t try for fear it will be broken). I like this kettle because the entire inner body is seamless. The sprout ( filter) doesn’t really come in contact with the water . And if you open the lid before you pour, it won’t touch the water anyway.
This kettle is fine. It’s a bit heavier than the cheaper kettle I also had. It keeps warm for a longer time . There is another model with a temperature control base . But I like this one since I basically use this kettle to boil water before filtering it with my Zerowater pot. So I actually wish it can cool off quicker!

Is the plastic filter part detachable?

There is a stainless steel screen on the the lid that the water pours through. The screen in is not removable and is attached to the lid. This is a quality product and I have had zero issues.

Can you manually set the temperature in case you want a temperature that is not one of the 6
presets?

Nope. You can only select the temperatures displayed on the touch panel.

what is the highest temperature that the water would go to?

This model doesn’t show the temperature, but you can hear it rapidly boiling.
