Introduction

Wi-Fi Signal in the Garage
The range of your Wi-Fi will depend on the thickness and number of walls, doors or other barriers between your router and garage, but the average range is about 50-100 feet from the Wi-Fi router. To test if it will work, take your smartphone into the garage and turn on Wi-Fi to be sure you get a signal. If you don’t get enough range, you can add a Wi-Fi range extender readily available at most consumer electronics stores.
Compatible Garage Door Opener
Your garage door opener must have safety reversing sensors which can be found at the bottom of the track of the door. These sensor prevent the door from closing when there is something blocking the path of the door.
Most garage door openers manufactured by the following brands are compatible: Chamberlain, Craftsman, Genie, LiftMaster, Linear, Overhead Door, Raynor, Stanley, Wayne Dalton.

Yes. You can buy the sensors you need for garage doors right here on Amazon. Each door can be given a name and controlled separately using the app.
Can the door close automatically with this setting? (For instance, automatic closing after 15 minutes of use)
Although it seems like a wonderful function, there is a drawback. A few years ago, I had a similar gadget installed on my outdated door openers (it would automatically lower them after a preset time). But it didn’t work, so the garage doors kept opening and closing. When the door openers started smoking while I wasn’t home, my spouse became alarmed and dialled the fire service.

A secure Wi-Fi network can absolutely be accessed by the MYQ-G0201.

How safe is this item? Which encryption algorithm does it employ?
I’ve been unable to determine the encryption method. We have set up the Internet Gateway for a Chamberlain garage door opener as well as the independent sensor for a Genie garage door opener. With our Android devices, both operate without a hitch. Since they connect via Wi-Fi, I would predict that the security would be based on the level of security configured at your router. Fantastic stuff
Does this item function on the iPhone 6?
Works flawlessly. My wife and my phone receive the alerts without any issues.
Will the Linear garage door opener function with it?

What about a sliding garage door?
To detect if the door is open, the sensor (a smaller square) attached to the door must be tilted sideways. The system won’t ever see a sideways sliding door as being open. (Comparable to a vertical door that doesn’t topple over but just slides up.) Even if you can still “press the button,” you won’t be able to see the outcome.
