INSTRUCTIONS
It’s easy! Follow these simple steps for unique results every time!
Tips:
- Apply dye within 45 minutes after mixing. Dye left unapplied after 45 minutes will begin to lose concentration and will result in noticeably weaker colour intensity.
- Do not add water to the dye until you are prepared to apply it.
- Make sure excess dye dust is removed from the work area.
- It is invisible until it reacts with water.
- Create new colours by blending dye.
- Place fabric on o raised wire rock while dyeing to avoid unwanted blending of colours.
- Do not allow dyed fabric to rest wet on other items.
- Always use gloves when working with dyes.
- Place a paper towel or cloth next to a paint cup.
- Weor an apron, when painting and washing.
- Rinse and dry the brush, when changing the paint colours.
- Use warm/soapy water to wash the paint off your hands and clothes, as it is washable.
DESIGNS
stripes
- Pleat fabric strips
- Bind into sections with rubber bonds
- Apply dye to each section
Bullseye
- Pull up from the centre and gather
- Bind with rubber bands
- Apply the dye
Folding
- Fold the fabric in half, then fold into fourths
- Apply dye to folded edges. Flip over fabric and repeat!
Sunburst
- Pinch and bind the fabric several inches apart
- Apply dye to tips
- Apply dye to the remaining fabric
Swirl
- Pinch fabric and twist into a flat spiral
- Bind with the rubber bands
- Apply dye, flip over and repeat
Gradient
- Apply dye
- Dip the brush into the dye and apply
- Dip the brush into water and apply
Shibori
- Wrap fabric around a tube
- Scrunch in both ends and bind with rubber bands
- Apply dye
Crumble
- Scrunch fabric using fingers
- Bunch together
- Apply the dye
