Product Overview

Making Espresso
- 1. Unscrew your IMUSA espresso maker and remove the funnel filler cup from the bottom halt. Pour water (cold or room temperature) into the bottom half of the espresso maker up to the valve located on the inside.
- Place the funnel filter cup into the bottom half and fill it with fine ground coffee without tamping or applying much pressure, level off at the top.
- Confirm that the top part of your espresso maker has the round metal filter and the silicone ring-like gasket (located on the bottom of the top piece). Do not use your coffee maker if these pieces are missing or damaged. Screw the top and bottom pieces together.
- Place your IMUSA espresso maker on the stove, making sure not to expose the handle to direct heat (you may place the coffee maker in such directly on top of the stove but the handle is outside of the burner area).
- Set your stove to medium heat and wait for the water to boil and for the coffee to begin percolating (t will make a gurgling sound). Once the top part is 4 full, remove the coffeemaker from the heat and wait 30 seconds for it to finish percolating. To avoid burns, do not lift the lid during this process. The top part should be nearly full of espresso when done. You may serve your coffee once the coffee maker stops bolling and gurgling.

Making Cuban Coffee (Calé Cubano)
To make Cuban Coffee, follow steps1 4 above and then continue with the following steps
- In a metal cup, place about one teaspoon of sugar for each serving. Set the stove to medium heat and the coffee begins to percolate, pour enough coffee into the metal cup to moisten the sugar. Vigorously mix the moistened sugar and coffee until it becomes a paste, Replace the Espresso Maker on the stove.
- Take your IMUSA Espresso Maker off the heat once the top portion is about 4 full. This will prevent it from burning or overflowing, Once the coffee is done percolating, pour it slowly into the metal cup while gently mixing it with the sugar paste. If done correctly, the sugar paste will create a “foam” once it is mixed with the rest of the coffee
Cleaning
Wait for the product to cool completely before pouring water in or onto it. Dry thoroughly.
General Recommendations
- Generally, the espresso coffeemaker will stain on the Inside of the coffee and minerals in the water. It is also normal for the exterior to become stained due to direct contact with heat.
- Do not store press coffee in the coffeemaker

- DO NOT add sugar to the filter with the coffee. This can cause the sugar to melt and clog the filter, creating a potential for product damage and harm to persons.
- DO NOT use the coffeemaker for other than intended use.
- DO NOT use an espresso coffeemaker if any parts are missing. Refer to the. diagram for parts and accessories.
- DO NOT use the coffeemaker over high heat or a large flame. Products with plastic, phenolic, or wooden accessories such as handles must not be used in any kind of oven nor be exposed to direct flames or direct heat. This can cause the handle to melt or catch fire. Use medium or low heat. Damage caused bv overheating is not covered by warranty.
