INSTRUCTION

PROBLEM

• Certain frames and consoles manufactured (see above) in Vietnam may have an issue that does not allow them to pair or update properly. If the unit is stuck in first-time setup or refuses to accept its own console serial number, this is the reason why.
• Consoles manufactured at the JIV factory in Vietnam specifically have a hardcoded prefix that may not match the serial number displayed on the serial number sticker.

SOLUTION
The temporary solution for this issue is to convert frame and console serial numbers into their original JIS equivalent prefixes so that they may be paired and can be updated when a software patch becomes available to remedy this situation. Frame serial number prefixes from JIV may in some cases work properly. If they do not, you can use the JIS serial number prefix from the Frame table.

Example: Customer has an XER-02 console with the serial number sticker TM1026XXXXXXX. During first-time setup, the serial number prefix will display as TM751 on the console screen. The customer only need input the numbers after the prefix on their serial number sticker for proper console operation (the Console Serial Number prefix should remain as the JIS version—TM751).

Example: Customer has a JIV frame with the serial number EP297XXXXXXX. During first-time setup, the serial number prefix will be EP297. Customers should convert the JIV frame prefix number to FEP729XXXXXXX according to the chart, matching it to the equivalent JIS model and adding an “F” at the start of the prefix.
