IMPORTANT

  • Periodically check the cord for damage. If the cord is damaged, take the charging unit to an Oral-B Service Centre. A damaged or nonfunctioning unit should no longer be used. Do not modify or repair the product. This may cause fire, electric shock, or injury. Never insert any object into any opening of the appliance.
  • Usage by children under age 3 is not recommended. Toothbrushes can be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Cleaning and maintenance shall not be performed by children.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
  • Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments that are not recommended by the manufacturer. · Only use the charger provided with your appliance.

WARNING

  • Do not place the charger in water or liquid or store it where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Do not reach for it when falling into the water. Unplug immediately.
  • This appliance contains batteries that are non-replaceable. Do not disassemble the product except when disposing of the battery. When taking out the battery for disposal of the unit, use caution so as not to short the positive (+) and negative (­) terminals.
  • When unplugging, always hold the power plug instead of the cord. Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. This can cause an electric shock.
  • If you are undergoing treatment for any oral care condition, consult your dental professional prior to use.
  • This toothbrush is a personal care device and is not intended for use on multiple patients in a dental practice or institution.
  • For tooth brushing only. Do not chew or bite on the brush. Do not use it as a toy or without adult supervision. To avoid brush head breakage which may generate a small part choking hazard or damage teeth: · Prior to each use, ensure the brush head fits well. Discontinue the use of the toothbrush, if the brush head no longer fits properly. Never use without a brush head.
  • If the toothbrush handle is dropped, the brush head should be replaced before the next use even if no damage is visible
  • Replace the brush head every 3 months or sooner if the brush head becomes worn.
  • Clean the brush head properly after each use (see «Cleaning Recommendations» paragraph). Proper cleaning ensures the safe use and functional life of the toothbrush.

Connecting and Charging

Your toothbrush has a waterproof handle, is electrically safe, and is designed for use in the bathroom.

  • Plug the charging unit (d) into an electrical outlet and place the toothbrush handle (c) on the charging unit (picture 1).

  • A full charge takes about 16 hours and enables up to 8 days of regular brushing (twice a day, 2 minutes).
  • For everyday use, the toothbrush handle can be stored on the plugged-in charging unit to maintain it at full power. Overcharging is impossible.

Battery Maintenance

To maintain the maximum capacity of the rechargeable battery, unplug the charging unit and discharge the handle by regular use at least every 6 months.

Brushing Technique

  • Wet brush head (a) and apply any kind of toothpaste. To avoid splashing, guide the brush head to your teeth before switching the appliance on (b).
  • When using one of the rotating brush heads guide the brush head slowly from tooth to tooth, spending a few seconds on each tooth surface.
  • When using the Oral-B «TriZone» brush head place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline. Apply light pressure and start brushing in back-and-forth motions, just like you would do with a manual toothbrush.
  • With any brush head, first, brush the outsides, then the insides, and finally the chewing surfaces (picture 3). Do not press too hard, simply let the brush do all the work.   • Turn off the handle by pressing the on/off switch (b).

In the first days of using any electric toothbrush, your gums may bleed slightly. In general, bleeding should stop after a few days. Should it persist after 2 weeks, please consult your dentist or dental hygienist?

Timer (depending on model)
An incorporated timer memorizes the elapsed brushing time. A short stuttering sound indicates the end of the professionally recommended 2-minute brushing time.

Oral-B brush heads feature INDICATOR® bristles to help you monitor brush head replacement needs. With thorough brushing, twice a day for two minutes, the color will fade halfway through approximately 3 months, indicating the need to exchange your brush head. If the bristles splay before the color recedes, you may exert too much pressure on teeth and gums (picture 3).

Cleaning

After use, rinse the brush head for several seconds under running water with the handle switched on. Switch off the handle and take off the brush head. Rinse both parts separately under running water and wipe them dry. From time to time, also clean the charging unit with a damp cloth (picture 4).

Guarantee

We grant 1-year guarantee on the product commencing on the date of purchase. Within the guarantee period, we will eliminate, free of charge, any defects in the appliance resulting from faults in materials or workmanship, either by repairing or replacing the complete appliance as we may choose.
This guarantee extends to every country where this appliance is supplied by Braun or its appointed distributor. This guarantee does not cover damage due to improper use, normal wear or use, especially regarding the brush heads, as well as defects that have a negligible effect on the value or operation of the appliance.
The guarantee becomes void if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons and if original Braun parts are not used.

To obtain service within the guarantee period, hand in or send the complete appliance with your sales receipt to an authorized Oral-B Braun Service Centre.

Warranty replacement brush heads

Oral-B warranty will be voided if electric rechargeable handle damage is found to be attributed to the use of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads. Oral-B does not recommend the use of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads.

  • Oral-B has no control over the quality of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads. Therefore, we cannot ensure the cleaning performance of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads, as communicated with the electric rechargeable handle at the time of initial purchase.
  • Oral-B cannot ensure a good fit of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads.
  • Oral-B cannot predict the long-term effect of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads on handle wear.

All Oral-B replacement brush heads carry the Oral-B logo and meet Oral-B’s high-quality standards. Oral-B does not sell replacement brush heads or handle parts under any other brand name.

Manufacturing date code
To determine the year and month of manufacture, refer to the 4-digit production code located on the type plate of the charger and handle. The first two digits of the production code refer to the year of manufacture. The next two digits refer to the month of manufacture. Example: «1209» – means the product was manufactured in September 2012.

Can I use the charger in other countries?

Yes, the charger can be used in all countries with a voltage of between 100 and 240 volts.

How long does it take to charge the toothbrush?

The toothbrush is fully charged after 8 hours. The red light on the charging unit will go out when the toothbrush is fully charged.

How long does it take to charge the toothbrush for 5 minutes?

It takes about 1 hour to charge for 5 minutes.

What is the function of the pressure sensor?

The pressure sensor triggers a pulsing vibration when you press too hard against your teeth and gums while brushing. This helps you adjust the pressure of your brushing to avoid damaging your teeth and gums.

What is the function of SmartTimer?

SmartTimer encourages you to brush each quadrant of your mouth for the dentist-recommended 2 minutes by giving you feedback, such as a pause in brushing, after 30 seconds. This helps ensure that you brush each quadrant for an equal amount of time.

Does this item work with 220 volts?

No, it is not compatible with 220 volts.

How is the toothbush cleaned?

We appreciate you asking! After brushing, thoroughly rinse your brush head under running water. Next, separate the brush head from the handle and wash each component separately in the sink. If cleaning the outside of the handle is required, it is acceptable to use a little detergent or cleaner and water; just make sure to wipe the head.

What should I do if the replacement brush won’t come?

When changing brush heads for the first time, you might need to pull firmly to remove the previous head, but after that, you can just pull it off. after each adjustment, it becomes easier

I just received this toothbrush two days ago, and I’m wondering if it should fit on the charger so sloppily. Isn’t it supposed to be tighter?

Both of the toothbrushes I ordered are loose on the charger, contrary to what I had anticipated.

How can I tell if the device is charging?

Taking the toothbrush off the charger and turning it on after 30 minutes is the best way to determine whether the Oral-B Vitality brush is charging. You’ll know it’s charging if it starts to move. Turn it off again, and then leave it on the charging station for the entire 16 hours that are required to recharge it fully. This toothbrushes must be turned off in order to take a charge, therefore it’s crucial to be aware of that.

Should you keep your toothbrush charged while using it or wait until it breaks before doing so?

To keep the toothbrush handle charged fully, you can leave it plugged in. Overcharging is impossible because the toothbrush was made to stop it.

Do I brush my teeth with an electric toothbrush before using toothpaste?

Yes. To the brush head, apply toothpaste. Before turning on the brush, direct the brush head toward your teeth to prevent splashing.
