SportDOG SD 875 SportTrainer Remote Trainers
INTRODUCTION
The SportTrainer 875 from SportDOG Brand is intended for close-working dog hunting and field training. With an easy-to-read OLED screen, you can quickly see the selected dog, the degree and mode of static stimulation, as well as the battery level. The SD-875 is especially well suited for multi-dog hunting settings because of this and huge plus/minus buttons to quickly switch between dogs and stim levels. Up to three dogs can be controlled simultaneously by the remote trainer using SportDOG Add-A-Dog Collar Receivers. You can adapt this system to any setting or dog’s temperament with its 10 levels of continuous and transient static stimulation, vibration, and tone options in some modes.
The SportDOG® SportTrainer® SD-875E Remote Trainer has been proven safe, comfortable, and effective for all dogs over 3.6 kg. Consistent, correct use of this product allows you to reinforce commands and correct misbehavior from up to 800 m. The Remote Transmitter sends a signal, activating the Collar Receiver to deliver harmless stimulation. With proper training, a dog will learn to associate this signal with a command. Like all SportDOG® products, this model features adjustable static stimulation levels so you can tailor the stimulation level to your dog’s temperament, eliminating the risk of over-stimulation.
IMPORTANT: The SPORTTRAINER® SD-875E remote trainer has a range of up to 800 m. Depending on the way you hold the remote transmitter, the maximum range may vary. For consistent results at longer ranges, hold the remote transmitter in a vertical position away from your body and above your head. Terrain, weather, vegetation, transmissions from other radio devices, and other factors will affect the maximum range.

FAQs
Does this also shock when barking is sensed?
No it does not, you must push a button when the dog is barking if you want to stop the barking or possibly wear a second no bark collar, which many customers do. Always make sure you are purchasing from an Authorized Sportdog retailer otherwise no warranty applies.
Where can i get a replacement pocket clip for the remote?
The replacement belt clip for this handheld remote transmitter is available separately as SKU# SAC00-12528.
Where do you order the other two extra collars?
Additional receiver collars for the SportDOG Brand SportTrainer can be found with model number SDR-AXF.
Does come with one or two shock collars?
This listing will be the kit of one remote transmitter and one receiver collar.
My dog has developed sores and scabs from the prongs, can you buy silicone covers for the prongs?
While we do not offer silicone covers, we can share with you what we have seen in the past. Typically, sores will only develop in a situation where a collar is worn too tight, too loose, or more than the recommended 12 hours a day. Some adjustments to the fit and/or a reduced time wearing the collar daily will be needed for your dog to be able to continue using this product.
Does the remote have a lock feature to prevent accidental corrections?
This remote transmitter does not offer a lock option. These buttons are designed for sporting use though and are very sturdy. Accidental corrections are not a common occurrence we hear of with this product.
Is vibration and tone modes adjustable too? can I raise the intensity of vibration and tone? if I needed to? thanks.
The levels of vibration and tone are not adjustable; only the level of static correction is adjusted.
Is this compatible with all sport dog beepers?
While most SportDOG Brand remote trainers are compatible with each other, they are not all universal. For specific questions on compatibility, we’ll need to know what equipment you plan to pair this trainer to.
Do you make a “dummy collar”? Have not had a shock collar in some years. Some used to make a dummy collar, of equal weight, to transition the dog off.
We do not manufacture dummy collars.
Can sd-875 be used with an underground fence system? if so what do I need to get?
While the handheld transmitter is compatible with our SDF-CTR Contain + Train Receiver Collar and can be used in conjunction with a fence, please know the SD-875 Receiver Collar has no containment capabilities. You will need the SDF-CTR Contain + Train Receiver Collar along with a compatible in-ground fence system to have both containment and training capabilities in a single collar unit.
Are vibration and tone strong enough for stubborn Doberman? Or we should try x425.
This system will offer the same static stimulation intensity that is offered on the SD-425X system. These systems are best for timid to average temperaments as they offer low and medium stimulation options only. If you feel your dog will need stronger stimulation for stubborn temperaments, we would recommend the SD-1275 which offers low, medium, and high stimulation options.
If u buy the 2 dog expandable version do you have to buy a separate collar & receiver?
To expand the system to two dogs, all you need to purchase is an Add-A-Dog receiver collar.
What can I do if the remote will not charge? The collar charges a fine.
We’re so sorry that you’re having this trouble with your SportTrainer remote. When you can, please contact our Customer Care Center at PetSafe directly so we can help you further.
Can the level be set per dog so it changes when a dog is selected?
Yes, the level for each dog can be set separately.
Can both batteries be changed by the user?
Yes. Although they last a good while. I have one collar that is at least 7 years old and the batteries were changed for the first time a little over two years ago. They are used and recharged 99 days out of a 100 consistently too, FWIW.
