H8087 LS Engine Swap Mid Length Headers
Product Information
The H8087 Mid Length Headers are designed for use with a 1973-87
Chevrolet 2WD C-10 LS Engine Swap. The headers come in a set of
two, with one left side header and one right side header. The
headers are made from high-quality materials to ensure durability
and longevity. The package includes header gaskets, bolts, lock
washers, reducers, nuts, and collector gaskets to facilitate easy
installation.
Product Usage Instructions
Before installing the H8087 Mid Length Headers, ensure that the
engine is cool and the vehicle is parked on a level surface. Follow
the steps below to install the headers:
- Remove the stock exhaust manifolds from the engine.
- Clean the exhaust ports on the cylinder heads using a wire
brush or sandpaper to remove any debris or rust. - Place the header gaskets on the cylinder heads.
- Install the left side header onto the cylinder head using the
provided bolts and lock washers. Tighten the bolts to the
manufacturer’s specifications. - Install the right side header onto the cylinder head using the
provided bolts and lock washers. Tighten the bolts to the
manufacturer’s specifications. - Install the reducers onto the collectors on each header.
- Install the collector gaskets onto the reducers.
- Tighten all nuts and bolts to the manufacturer’s
specifications.
Note: It is recommended to use a torque wrench to tighten the
nuts and bolts to avoid over-tightening or under-tightening.
Failure to properly tighten the nuts and bolts may result in
exhaust leaks or damage to the headers.
Warranty Information
The H8087 Mid Length Headers come with a limited warranty
against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is valid
for a period of one year from the date of purchase. In the event of
a warranty claim, the product must be returned to the manufacturer
for inspection and evaluation. The warranty does not cover damage
caused by improper installation, misuse, or normal wear and
tear.

NOTE: These headers are designed to be used with Doug’s Headers SK100 motor mount adapters DISASSEMBLY 1. Remove bolts from headpipe to exhaust manifolds. 2. Note the spark plug wire locations and remove them from the spark plugs. 3. Remove spark plug wire looms, plugs and any brackets attached to the manifolds. 4. Disconnect the 02 sensor wiring. 5. Remove the 02 sensors. 6. Remove the oil dipstick and tube. 7. Remove both exhaust manifolds. 8. Remove the starter. 9. Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head of any old gasket debris or carbon build up 10. Remove the oil filter.
INSTALLATION RIGHT SIDE: 1. Starting from below, work the header and gasket up through the chassis into position. 2. Apply anti-seize to all header bolts being used. Start all header bolts. 3. Tighten all header bolts evenly (most restricted first. 4. Reinstall the right side spark plugs, wire looms, starter and dipstick tube and dipstick. 5. Install the 3 bolt reducer with the provided nuts and bolts. 6. Cut the old exhaust pipe and weld as necessary to the new reducer. 7. Reinstall the O2 sensor.
LEFT SIDE: 1. Starting from below, work the header and gasket up through the chassis into position. 2. Apply anti-seize to all header bolts being used. Start all header bolts. 3. Tighten all header bolts evenly (most restricted first). 4. Reinstall the oil filter. 5. Reinstall the left side spark plugs, wire looms and any brackets. 6. Install the 3 bolt reducer with the provided nuts and bolts. 7. Cut the old exhaust pipe and weld as necessary to the new reducer. 8. Reinstall the O2 sensor. 9. Connect the negative battery cable.
