Millennia Hv-32p Portable Two Channel Microphone Preamplifier User Guide

HV-32P Portable Two Channel Microphone Preamplifier

Millennia Music & Media Systems HV-32P User Guide

The Millennia HV-32P is a music and media system that can be
powered through Li-Ion battery packs that produce 14.8V DC and
automatically cut off at 12V DC. It is important to note that if it
doesn’t have a cut-off circuit, it may damage the unit.
Additionally, it is highly recommended to avoid connecting or
disconnecting mics with the +48V on (hot patching) as this can
damage the mic, preamp and make some very loud pops that can damage
your monitoring system and ears.

The Millennia HV-32P comes with a two (2) year warranty that
covers failures due to defects in materials and workmanship which
occur during normal, intended use. Vacuum tube and bulb failures
are not covered under warranty. Shipping costs to/from factory are
not covered under this warranty. International warranty law may
vary from country to country, and Millennia will abide by the law
of each country from which the product was initially sold.

If you are in North America and need repairs or service, please
contact Millennia ([email protected]) to obtain a Return
Authorization number. Please include your shipping address, daytime
phone number and description of the problem. Outside of North
America, please contact your local Millennia Distributor.

In the event that any Millennia equipment manufactured after
July 1, 2006 needs to be discarded, you must return it to

the distributor in your country or Millennia directly for
instructions. We will make arrangements to have the equipment

Gain is a continuously variable gain control. It has a high gain jump near full clockwise for low level signals. Signal LEDs indicate signal level at -30dBu (green), +8dBu (yellow) and +20dBu (red). Ribbon-Dyn Mic DC couples the mic to the gain stage and also provides an additional 10dB of gain. Use with any Ribbon or Dynamic mic (like an SM-57). A mic requiring phantom power will not work in this mode. Pad Attenuates the input signal after the gain stage by about 14dB.

Phantom Power turns the +48V phantom power supply on.
Avoid connecting or disconnecting mics with the +48V on (hot patching). This can damage the mic, preamp and make some very loud pops that can damage your monitoring system and ears.
External Power Supply The HV-35P is powered by a 12V DC, 5 amp, universal voltage (100 to 240 VAC) line lump power supply provided with the unit.
It can also be powered by Li-Ion battery packs that produce 14.8V DC and automatically cut off at 12V DC. If it doesn’t have a cut-off circuit, it may damage the unit.

Rack Tray Mounting Maximum MidAtlantic screw length is 3/16″ (flathead 632). If you use a longer screw it will damage the circuit board.

Water, Moisture, and Spillage Do not attempt to use the HV-32P in, near, or around water or in unusually moist environments, such as near a sink or swimming pool. Prevent liquids or any other materials or objects from spilling or falling into the HV-32P unit.
Grounding For your safety, it is extremely important that the grounding pin of the 3-wire power cable (included with 110 Volt units) be inserted into a grounding type 3-pin power outlet. If you are unable to insert the plug into an existing outlet, contact an electrician to install a properly grounded 3-pin power outlet, preferably that with OFI / CFI protection, if available.
