The modem includes the following connection ports:
  • POWER – Connects to the power adapter
  • ETHERNET – Connects devices to the 10/100/1000 RJ45 Ethernet port
  • CABLE – Connects to a coaxial cable

The information below is usually found on a sticker located on the bottom of the modem.
  • The S/N is the serial number of the Linksys CM3008 modem.
  • The CM MAC is the MAC address of the Linksys CM3008 modem.

Troubleshooting

The lights indicate the current status of your modem. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

OffNo power – Verify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is not connected to a switch. Press the Power ON/OFF button on the back of the modem to ensure it is turned on.
Receive

Solid BlueMultiple downstream channels are in use.
Solid GreenOne downstream channel is in use.
BlinkingScanning for downstream channels. – Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Send

Send light

Solid BlueMultiple upstream channels are in use.
Solid GreenOne downstream channel is in use.
Blinking GreenScanning for an upstream channel. – Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
OffNo upstream channels are in use. – Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Status

Status light

OnThe modem is online.
BlinkingThe modem is registering a connection.
OffThe modem is offline. – Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Ethernet

Ethernet light

OnA device is connected to the Ethernet port.
BlinkingData is being transferred over the Ethernet connection.
OffNo device is connected or the device is disabled. – Verify all cable connections and try resetting the modem.
Reset Button

N/APress and hold for five seconds to restore settings to factory defaults and reboot the modem.
