INTENDED USE

The Upper Ann Electronic Blood Pressure Monitor is intended to measure the blood pressure and pulse rate of adults at a household or medical center.(Not suitable for neonate, pregnancy)

• Do not use this device on other body parts, only use it on the upper arm.
• Do not disassemble the device as incorrect handling may cause injury.
• Keep the device from radiation equipment, as radiation may interfere with the proper device operation.

IMPORTANT NOTICES TO USERS

• This device is used for adults only.
• Make sure to use only the type of battery recommended(See Section “Preparation before use”)
• Do not use it on pregnant women. The result is inaccurate and the effects on the fetus are unknown.

Prepare before using

Insert batteries
This device operates on 4 “AA” batteries (Included).
Remove any plastic wrap from the batteries before installation.
Place the batteries into the battery compartment according to the “+” and “-” polarity symbols at the bottom of the compartment as shown below. If you do not intend to use this device for a prolonged time, it is advisable to remove the batteries before storing the device.

Battery instructions Warning 

• Do not swallow the battery or battery fluid and place the battery and the product where it is not easily accessible to children. If a child or someone else swallows the battery or battery fluid, immediately call the hospital hotline.
• If the battery leaks and comes into contact with your eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water and immediately dial the hospital hotline.
• The battery cannot be recharged or regenerated for other uses.

Caution
If the battery leaks, please do not touch the battery liquid and touch the eyes. Wearing protective gloves, clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.

Safety instructions

• Please use the specified battery size and battery model.
• Cannot be used with rechargeable batteries, as the device is not capable of charging the batteries.
• Replace batteries before they are completely dead. Replace batteries when the batteries indicate insufficient power.
• Leaky batteries may damage equipment. If you do not use this product for a long time, please remove the battery from the battery box before storage.
• To avoid power loss, please do not place any heavy objects on the product when not in use. (When the product is not in use, please do not place heavy objects on it.)
• Please replace the battery cover carefully.
• When the power is too low, the device will shut down automatically. This indicates its time to replace the 4 AA batteries.

Time/Date setting

• When the device is off, press and hold the  key to enter the year setting interface. Press the key can be increased from the default value to 99. Each time you press the value, it will increase once, and the adjustment to the required year key will be confirmed.
• Enter the month setting interface, the month will flash, each time you press the  key, the value will 0 increase once, and adjust to the required month, then press the
  key to confirm.
• To enter the data setting interface, the data will flash, each time you press the key, the value will increase once, and adjust to the required date and press the key to confirm.
• Enter the time interface, the default 24-hour time system will flash, the can switch between the 24-hour and 12-hour time system, confirm the required time and press them to confirm.
• Enter the time setting interface, and the clock will flash, the value will increase once every time the key is pressed. After the correct time is confirmed, the minute will flash. Each time the is pressed, the value will increase once. After adjusting to the correct minute, press the key to confirm.

5. Unit setting
Enter the unit conversion interface, and the left arrow indicates the default unit is mmHg, and the key can switch between mmHg and Kpa, adjust to the required unit system and press the key to confirm.

6. Voice on/off/volume setting

Enter the voice broadcast switch interface, the default voice broadcast is ON, and the key can switch between the voice broadcast ON and the voice broadcast OFF. After adjusting to the required state, press the key to confirm. Enter the volume setting interface, press the key to increase. The value will increase once, increase from 0-30 volume, adjust to the appropriate volume, and press the key to confirm.

Measure operation

1. Before the measuring

• Rest 5-10 minutes before measuring blood pressure.
• Avoid drinking alcohol, coffee, black tea, bathing, smoking, and exercising for 1 hour before measuring.
• Blood pressure rises when urination is urgent, so excrete urine before measurement.
• For patients with arteriosclerosis, diabetes, liver disease, high blood pressure, and end-to-end vascular circulation, please follow the instructions to use this product.
• High blood pressure can cause many serious diseases. If the doctor diagnoses high blood pressure, it is very important to do “basic blood pressure”.

2. Start measure

• Place the cuff flat on the table and make the Adhesive cloth down, Put the end of the cuff through the metal ring, circle it in a ring; The Adhesive cloth of the cuff should face outward. As shown in Pic1-2 (If the cuff has been looped beforehand, please ignore this step.)
• Put the cuff onto the measuring arm and point the hose to the arm, As shown in Pic3.
• Place the cuff on the arm, making sure that the lower edge of the cuff p is at 2-3 cm from the elbow joint, As shown in Pic4.
• Tighten the free edge of the cuff and stick the Adhesive cloth, As shown in Pic5-6.
• Make sure that the Adhesive cloth of the cuff is to be attached comfortably to prevent over-tightening and place the lower arm flat on the table and palm up. So that the cuff and the heart are at the same height. Also, please note that the cuff tube cannot be folded or bent. As shown in Pic 7-8.

Note l: If you are unable to use the left arm measurement, please use the right arm for the measurement, but in any case, all measurements must be made on the same side of the arm for measurement comparison.

Press the user button or or , the Display screen flashes the initial page and sends out a voice prompt. “Attention please, please keep silent and relax, keep the cuff and heart level. The motor Rotation and Pressure commence after the voice broadcast.

Note 2: By pressing or or , the operator can choose to measure user or user. Measurement results will be saved. If choose user key is selected, measurement results will not be saved.

• When pressurized, the pressure indicator bar changes accordingly. When the pressure reaches a stable value, the motor stops, and the pressure in the cuff begins to deflate at a constant rate. (If the pressure is insufficient and cannot be stabilized, Er4 appears on the screen and needs to be re-measured.)
• When an irregular pulse is detected, the screen appears icon and flashing.
• When the measurement is completed, the cuff is deflated, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse is displayed on the LCD, and the system compares the result with the international standard of blood pressure. The voice broadcast of the measurement results allows the user to know whether the blood pressure measurement is normal. (The voice settings will not be broadcast when they are turned off.)
• In the absence of any operation, the machine will automatically shut down after about 30 seconds.

Note3: When you choose to be in mmHg, the pressurization and measurement will be displayed in mmHg. When you choose to be in KPa, the pressurization and measurement will be displayed in KPa.

3. Memory rollback In the off state, Long time means pressing the key for greater than three seconds Short time means momentarily depressing the key.

• Press or for a long time queries the historical data of the corresponding user.

4. Memory delete

• Pressa or for a long time enters the historical data interface of the corresponding user. Pressor select historical data, press appear DEL prompt to delete. Press to delete. Press and for a long time to delete all data.
• In the User history data interface to press for a long time shut down.

Note: If for some reason (for example, the user feels uncomfortable, etc.) and it is necessary to interrupt the measurement, please press the measurement key selected by the user at any time, the device will immediately reduce the pressure of the cuff.

Cleaning and maintenance

The device is not delivered sterile and has no degradable components, therefore, the shelf-life is not applicable. Please Pay Attention to the maintenance:

• Avoid impact, dampness, dust, and keep the device away from chemicals, places with high-temperature fluctuations, and heat sources. (For example, fireplace, heating, etc.) Otherwise, the product may be damaged.
• Do not use strong solvents, detergents, detergents, or other chemically enhanced items to clean the product.
• Do not immerse the product in water or liquid; otherwise, the liquid immersed in the product will damage it.
• Do not put this product in the washing machine, dishwasher, or dryer.
• Don’t press the button too hard or with sharp objects.
• Do not attempt to repair or debug the product by yourself; otherwise, it will cause damage to the product. If the product is damaged due to misuse, it is not covered by our warranty. If repair is required, please return the product to the local distributor within the warranty period. If the product is out of the warranty period, please contact our customer service. Before submitting complaints and suggestions, please first check whether batteries need to be replaced.
• Do not disassemble or change the parts of the product. Unauthorized disassembly or change of the parts of the product will affect the device’s normal use.
• Please clean the product regularly with a dry cloth.
• Place the product in a dry place to avoid sun exposure, extreme heat, extreme cold, or humidity.
• Before storage, please dry it and place it in a place that is not easily accessible to children. Please do not expose the product to strong vibrations, such as dropping it on the floor. Follow the instructions in this operation guide, and use the product correctly.
• If the original parts are replaced with parts supplied by a non-manufacturer, measurement errors may occur.
• Daily maintenance: It is recommended to use a soft dry cloth to clean the device every month.
• The device is a measurement device, it is recommended to calibrate it every year at the manufacturer or qualified third party.

Management

• The toxic substances contained in batteries are harmful to the environment. Please dispose of the batteries in strict accordance with the local battery use specifications. Please do not dispose of batteries with ordinary household waste.
• Please follow the local laws and regulations on material recycling and properly dispose of the product per the local laws and regulations.

• Portable and mobile RF communication equipment may affect the performance of BM100-EN/BM10013 upper arm electronic blood pressure monitor, and avoid strong electromagnetic interference when using it, such as near mobile phones, microwave ovens, etc.
