BY-3000-X(A) BYOD Station

Product Information

The BYOD Station BY-3000-X(A) is an analog telephone to Wi-Fi
connection adaptor that provides voice communication. It allows
users to connect their analog phone to a Wi-Fi network for seamless
communication.

The package includes the following items:

  • Base Unit
  • AC Adaptor
  • Line Cable
  • User Guide (This document)

The product features a back view with the following
components:

  • Setting Button
  • Line in
  • Line out
  • Status LED

The functions of each component are as follows:

  • Setting Button: Used to reset the device to
    factory default or change device connecting mode.
  • Line in: Connects to the line cord.
  • Line out: Connects to an existing analog
    phone.
  • Status LED: Indicates the device’s connection
    status.

The LED has the following color indications:

  • Off: Device is not connected to an access
    point.
  • Red: Device is connected to an access
    point.
  • Green: Device is under Wi-Fi sync or factory
    default reset.

Product Usage Instructions

Installation and Configurations

To install the phone on the wall, follow these steps:

C. Wi-Fi Sync

  1. The 2nd BY-3000-X(A) will connect to the 1st BY-3000-X(A) and
    synchronize the Wi-Fi SSID/Password of the destination access point
    and the provision server IP address with the 1st BY-3000-X(A). The
    2nd BY-3000-X(A) will reboot after the synchronization is
    completed.
  2. After rebooting, the 2nd BY-3000-X(A) device will link to the
    specified access point and download the provision file from the
    TFTP server.

Factory Default Reset

To perform a factory default reset, follow these steps:

  1. Boot the BY-3000-X(A) device.
  2. Press and hold the setting button for 5 seconds until the LED
    turns green to perform the factory reset.

Description To rest device to factory default or change device connecting mode. Connects to line cord. Connects to existing analog phone. Connects to AC power adapter.

3. Installation and configurations
The following illustration shows how to install the phone on the wall.
1. Setup 1st BY-3000-X(A): A. Web setup: Please use Firefox as the browser. (i) Boot the device to AP mode. Press the setting button and power on the 1st BY-3000X(A), till the status LED light up in green, the device is in AP mode. (ii) Use a PC to scan and connect to the device by the SSID: “ADB8000” and Password “ADB8000123” (iii) The PC will get its IP address as “192.168.4.x”. Open a browser (Firefox suggested) and enter the web address “192.168.4.1” to access web interface of BY-3000-X(A) (iv) Basic setup: (a) Input the SSID/password of destination access point and the TFTP provision server IP address. (b) Remove and plug in the power jack to reboot the device. (c) After linking to destination access point and connecting to provision server, the device will retrieve the corresponding provision file. B. 1st BY-3000-X(A) provisioning (i) BY-3000-X(A) will download the provision file through specified TFTP server. Please prepare and setup the TFTP server and provision file prior to provisioning. (ii) The provision filename is defined as the “MAC address.cfg”. For example “000e43d30001.cfg”.
2. Setup 2nd and other BY-3000-X(A) devices A. Boot the 1st device to AP mode: Press the setting button and power on the 1st BY-3000-X(A) device. When status LED lights up in green, the 1st device is in AP mode. B. Power on the 2nd BY-3000-X(A) device, and the status LED of the 2nd BY-3000-X(A) device would lights up in red. Press and hole the setting button (5 seconds) till the status LED lights up in orange. The 2nd BY-3000-X(A) will perform will perform the Wi-Fi sync. (If the destination access point SSID field of the 2nd BY-3000-X(A) device was specified, the 2nd device will be factory reset.)
C. Wi-Fi Sync

(i)

The 2nd BY-3000-X(A) will connect to 1st BY-3000-X(A) and synchronize the Wi-Fi

SSID/Password of destination access point and the provision server IP address with the

1st BY-3000-X(A). The 2nd BY-3000-X(A) will reboot after the synchronization is completed.

(ii) After rebooting, the 2nd BY-3000-X(A) device will link to specified access point and

download the provision file from TFTP server.

3. Factory default reset User can remove all data by resetting a BY-3000-X(A) device to factory default. Boot the BY-3000-X(A) device. Press and hold the setting button (5 seconds) till the LED is in green to perform factory reset.
