Product Information: Communications Receiver

The IC-R1500 is a wideband mobile receiver that comes with a
remote control head, making it suitable for both mobile and base
station operation. It has an ultra-wideband coverage and provides
various mounting possibilities in various places. The device also
has selectable green, amber, and yellow display backlight
colors.

The IC-R1500 has a 60 channels per second scan rate, making it
quick to scan through a band. It offers program, priority scan, and
various scanning modes. Additionally, the device has optional DSP
capability with the UT-106. This feature helps to reduce noise from
your vehicle’s ignition and weak signal work, making it easier to
pull out a radio signal from the noise.

The device has 1000 alphanumeric memory channels that can be
arranged by service or personal preference in the 21 memory banks.
You can selectively link channels together to scan depending on
your needs. The device also has CTCSS, DTCS tones, and pocket beep
functions. The CTCSS and DTCS tones provide quiet standby while
waiting for a matched tone signal. The pocket beep function alerts
you with a beep sound when a matched tone signal is received.

Other features of the IC-R1500 include frequency lists in your
neighborhood (based on FCC license), and it blocks cellular bands
in the U.S.A. version.

Product Usage Instructions:

Connect the device to a power source (13.8V DC) using the DC IN
port.
Connect the antenna to the antenna connector on the
device.
If using a PC to program memory channels and memory names,
connect the device to the PC using the USB port and install the PC
control software from the software CD provided.
Select the desired display backlight color by pressing the
appropriate button on the remote control head.
To scan through a band, press the scan button on the remote
control head. Use the program, priority scan, and various scanning
modes as needed.
If using optional DSP capability, install the UT-106 and
activate the noise reduction and auto notch filter functions to
reduce noise and weak signals.
To program memory channels and memory names, use your PC and
the PC control software provided to arrange the 1000 memory
channels by service or personal preference in the 21 memory banks.
You can selectively link channels together to scan depending on
your needs.
To use CTCSS, DTCS tones, and pocket beep functions, select the
desired function on the remote control head.
When not using the IC-R1500 while installed in a vehicle, turn
off the main unit power switch to prevent standby power consumption
that can drain the vehicle battery over time.

While similar to the PCR1500, the IC-R1500 is supplied with a remote control head for mobile and/or base station operation. It provides a variety of mounting possibilities in various place.

Whether you are into weak signal work or you have noise from your vehicles ignition, the optional DSP, UT-106, will help. The noise reduction and auto notch filter functions are the key to pulling a radio signal out of the noise.

1000 on-board memory channels at the touch of a button! With Icom’s Dynamic Memory Scan, DMS, you have a versatile memory channel management system at your command. The 1000 memory channels can be arranged by service or personal preference in the 21 memory banks. Selectively link the channels together to scan depending on your needs. Programming the memory channels and 6 character memory names is simple with your PC.
