PRAXISDIENST Faroderm Biopsy Punch
Read instructions carefully before use. Sterile, for single use only. Do not re-sterilize.
Punch biopsy is a standardized method to get skin specimens.
Instructions for Use
- Prepare skin area
Sterilise the skin area with alcohol. - Anesthetize the skin
- Anesthetize the area to be biopsied by injecting a solution of
- Lidocaine-HCL 1% subepidermal.
- Punch Biopsy of the skin
- Hold the punch between the thumb and index finger. Apply slight pressure and turn the punch until the blade has pierced the skin.
- Remove the blade from the skin, and clean it of blood.
- Excision of skin biopsy
- Gently grip and raise the skin sample with anatomical tweezers.
- Separate carefully with a scalpel at the base.
- Wound closure
- For wounds ≤ 4mm gently compress or close with tape.
- For wounds ≥ 4mm close with a suture, clip, or adhesive strip as appropriate.

Remarks
- To be used only by health care professionals, not by patients.
- Don’t use it if the primary pack (blister) is damaged.
