PRODUCT DETAILS

A flanged overflow fitting for use with flat wall tanks.
The flanged design allows you to install it with either a gasket or sealant – whatever your preference is. The straight-through design sets the overflow level at the base of the fitting, which you can then connect to with any standard plumbing fittings or mosquito-proof screens.

Installation

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

  • Tank Overflow Standard (for Flat Wall Tanks)

TOOLS/MATERIALS YOU MAY REQUIRE

  • Marker pen
  • Hole saw
  • Silicone
  • Screws
  • Screwdriver

NOTE: If space is available consider a High Level Tank Overflow to increase the storage in your rain water tank.

INSTALLATION

  1. If you do not have an existing tank overflow hole in your tank, use your overflow as a template to mark the size of the hole you need to cut in the side of your tank, then cut using a hole saw. Ensure that the bottom of the hole you cut sits lower than the bottom of the tank inlet and/or tank inlet screen.
  2. Apply silicone to the flange on your tank overflow, push it into the tank overflow hole, then screw in place through the provided screw holes.
  3. Place the mesh screen in your Leaf Catcher, snapping the screen under the rear retaining ledge first, then under the front and side ledges.
  4. Slightly rotate your Leaf Catcher to slip it under the upper section of downpipe, then slide it into line and push the unit down onto the lower section of downpipe. Do not glue in place.
  5. If desired, you can paint your rain head to match your downpipes, building or tank.

Maintenance

When properly installed, your tank overflow should be maintenance-free.
We recommend pairing your tank overflow with a mosquito-proof screen or flap valve to prevent mosquitoes and other pests entering your tank through the overflow outlet.
