BRITA S01ZH7973J Elite Water Filter Replacements for Pitchers and Dispensers

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
- Hand wash* pitcher/dispenser, lid, and reservoir. Rinse well. With clean hands, insert the filter into the reservoir by lining up the groove in the filter with a ridge in the reservoir. Press firmly for a tight seal.
- Do not wash in the dishwasher.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners.

- To set the filter life status indicator, press the STATUS button and hold it down for 6 seconds until the green light next to ELITE FILTER blinks three times.

- Open the lid and fill the reservoir with cold tap water.* Pour out the first 3 pitchers/first dispenser of water, or use to water plants.
- Hot water shouldn’t be used with the Brita® Elite™ Filter (Max. 85°F/29°C – Min. 32°F/0°C).

- To check the filter life status, quickly press and release the STATUS button. When the light blinks red, you should replace your filter and reset the indicator (step 2), about every 6 months* for the average household.

- You may need to change your filter more or less often than 6 months/120 gallons (454 L), depending on the amount and quality of the water you consume. For water with high levels of sediment, sand, and/or rust, the Brita® Elite™ filter may need to be changed more frequently to maintain the flow rate.
- We recommend that you keep your Brita® system out of direct sunlight and replace any filtered water that’s been left sitting for several days or more.
- For best results when filling the pitcher/dispenser reservoir, direct the flow of tap water on the side of the reservoir rather than directly on top of the filter.
- Only keep the lid open for more than 5 seconds if you are filling your pitcher/dispenser because this activates the filter change indicator, which measures water use by counting the number of reservoirs filled.
- The pitcher/dispenser works with all Brita® system filters except Stream.
