The DOD Compressor 280 will help you manage the dynamic range of the input signal from your instrument. Compressing your dynamic range will make notes sustain longer, the sound seem tighter and help you avoid clipping the signal going into other e!ects or your amplifie .
Like its predecessor, the DOD Compressor 280 o!ers independent Compression and Output controls. True bypass allows your guitar tone to remain pristine even when the DOD 280 is o!. This is a big di!erence from the original, which would color your bypassed tone. The modern 9V DC power supply input makes the pedal more pedalboard friendly.

HOW IT WORKS
Placement of the DOD Compressor 280:
- Most guitarists/bassists favor placing the DOD Compressor 280 at the beginning of their chain of e!ects, so start with that placement.
- Since compressors have a great a!ect on your approach, dynamics and sustain, placing it towards the front or your chain of e!ects will “preserve the vibe” no matter the pedal combination.
- That being said, you may wish to experiment with e!etc placement to find the sound th t best fits our playing.
Setup of the DOD Compressor 280:
- Start with both controls at 12:00, their midpoint.
Then adjust to taste. If the result is too extreme, then turn the compression control down to a lower setting. - All settings will be heavily dependent on the output level of your instrument, the dynamic range of your playing style and the results you want from the compression.
