The old sensors will work in the ecobee app but will always show “No Response” in home kit. Can’t even remove them from the home kit. Very annoying.

We have 2 exobees – one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Each one replaced the existing thermostat. I control both ecobee from the app.
The microphone is replaced by a red symbol when the microphone is turned off. Nothing is red if you don’t connect it to Alexa in the first place. The microphone is too good. From the next room over the Alexa on the thermostat responds even when I have an echo Within 3 feet of where I’m sitting.
Yes they can. However, there is a primary account. This account would then invite others to join the home. That wa,y anyone who has been given access by the primary account would be able to control the thermostat.

Mine had not done that, but you do get a push notification on your phone that air quality has dropped significantly, with recommended actions. I personally don’t find this too helpful as it is less than ideal to open a window when is super hot outside.
Yes. Just run through the setup and Siri will be up and running. It’s just a little slower than using Siri on a phone or HomePod. But hardly noticeable.
If you look in the app you can turn off the follow me function. From my understanding, it turns off the sensor.
