FAQ’s

How far can Wi-Fi reach? Is it cloud-based and available worldwide or only within a specific radius?

Absolutely everywhere. That’s why I purchased it. It functions similarly to the Traeger Grilles WiFire technology, which enables me to monitor one temperature probe, the temperature of the grill, the temperature setting, and others wherever I am as long as I have access to a cell phone or another Wi-Fi network. I wouldn’t require this if Traeger had more temperature probes.

Will this allow me to simultaneously view the inside meat temperature and the grill temperature?

You may check the temperature at the grill level using one of the probes and the accompanying clip.

Why is a GPS required for this device to “stalk” my location? if the app is network connected via wifi and my phone is connected to the network?

If you look at its permissions, it requests access to more than just your GPS location. It also requests access to your Device & App history, Identity, Contacts, Location, Photos/Media/Files, Camera, WiFi Connection information, Bluetooth Connection information, Device ID & Call information, as well as your Identity, Contacts, and Location. Without a doubt, that is a security issue.

Does this support SmartThings?

I am unsure if it will. It still won’t connect to the Wi-Fi, despite my best efforts. I’m not happy with my Wi-Fi Inkbird purchase so far.

Will both thinner and thicker slices, such as steaks and pig buts, work with this method?

With butts, it most definitely works. Depending on how thin you are speaking, I suppose. On 1″ it will undoubtedly work, on 34″ maybe. It would be challenging to insert the probe in the middle as you get considerably thinner. An instant read thermometer might serve you better.

Can one of the probes detect the temperature of the grill?

Yes, you can use it to gauge grill temperature with a meat clip.

Does this device support Xfinity XFi internet? Dual band 2.4 and 5 service is what it is

You can connect to Xfiniti Xfi, of course! Just now! The name and password were the same for both my 5.0 and my 2.4 GHz. I changed the 2.4’s name and password in my network’s “edit” and was then able to join my iPhone to the 2.4 before connecting the InkBird.

If the target temperature is attained, does it include a feature that will notify you or your phone?

Yes, you may configure it to notify you if the temperature falls too low.

Can I replace inkbird pro with the bbq 4t app?

Although I haven’t tested, I don’t think so, but the pro app had a Bluetooth setup, so perhaps they could use their Bluetooth on that app.

Can the battery be changed?

No, a built-in battery.

How does an Android phone’s vibration alarm function?

Yes, it will keep vibrating until you turn it off. You may do this using your phone, in which case the alarm on the gadget will also be turned off.
