About the Snap-Bots
Children use snap-together builders to build up to six unique Snap-Bots-developing fine motor skills and learning shapes as they go!

Using the Snap-Bots
- Remove the builders from their packaging. Show the different builder styles to children. Discuss the features of the builders, and model how children can snap them together to make robots.
- Show children what happens when snaps don’t fit together (either because both are sockets, or both are studs). Explain that children should look for a snap with the opposite feature.
- Prompt children to decide which Snap-Bot to make. Ask, Which face, body, arms, and legs will your Snap-Bot have? Provide some possible combinations (for example, two short legs and two long arms) that children might use. Next, invite children to begin building. Have them start by snapping a face to a body. Encourage children to keep building until they complete their Snap-Bots.
Talk About It
As children work with the Snap-Bots, ask the following questions to engage their thinking:
- How many builders did you use to build your Snap-Bot?
- What shapes make up your Snap-Bot?
- Can you make a Snap-Bot with 10 builders?
Build On Their Learning
Challenge children to build three Snap-Bots in three different sizes: small, medium, and large. Prompt children to start with the small Snap-Bot. Once they
have completed it, ask them to create a medium-size Snap-Bot. After children select the builders and complete the medium Snap-Bot, have them follow the same steps for the large Snap-Bot. Finally, ask children to count the number of builders in each Snap-Bot.
